This week we're kicking off with part 1 of a 2 parter about a huuuge topic: confidence. We’re getting into the nitty-gritty of self-love and confidence, which are sneaky aspects of our lives that impact making financial decisions.

No one is scrutinising us as much as we do ourselves, and it’s human nature (and conditioning) to think that a shiny new thing, like an outfit, makeup or even a diet program, will sort out all our insecurities. Fortunately, the best fix is free and usually what we actually need is a shift from seeking external validation to cultivating internal confidence. When are we buying to fix ourselves, and when are we "investing in ourselves"? In this solo episode I dive into the sometimes-dangerous advice I see on social media about "investing in yourself" (which is basically just fixing yourself and/or emotional spending in disguise), and unpack the differences between healthy investments in yourself and toxic pseudo investments in yourself. Then, we move onto a model you can use to explore 7 ways you can invest in yourself in a meaningful way, and side step that toxic side of self-investment.
