Tune in here to this Thursday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking about the upcoming elections and the importance of fighting for every vote in what he expects to be a competitive political cycle. He emphasizes that elections are rarely guaranteed blowouts and encourages listeners to recognize the challenges both parties face as the campaign season continues. Brett then shifts to the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump’s announcement that the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan will not be livestreamed. He discusses the backlash surrounding the proposal to broadcast the execution and argues that publicly displaying the punishment could risk turning Hasan into a martyr for extremists.

Brett highlights polling that showed widespread opposition to livestreaming the execution and stresses the importance of remembering the 13 people killed and 32 others injured in the 2009 Fort Hood attack. He concludes by arguing that Hasan’s crimes should be remembered for their devastating impact on the victims and their families.
