New Year's Day Attack in New Orleans on The Brett Winterble Show

View descriptionShare

Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the program by talking about the terrorist attack in New Orleans in the early hours of the new year, leaving 10 or more dead and many more injured. The assailant proceeded to exit the vehicle and have a shootout with police, injuring two officers before being killed by police. New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell believes the incident was a terrorist attack. Brett shares clips from a press conference earlier today where New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said, "this was a terrorist attack." Reports say there was an IED inside the vehicle used in the attack, and more throughout the French Quarter. The FBI has taken over the investigation moving forward and we will keep you updated on all new information as it comes out.

Bill Roggio from the Long War Journal joins us to discuss the attack earlier today, what we should all be looking for moving forward, potential follow-up attacks, groups taking credit for the attack, and more.

Later, we're joined by Scott McEwen, author of "American Sniper," to talk about the threat ISIS poses both in the Middle East and here at home. The truck used in the attack this morning had an ISIS flag attached to the trailer hitch. "This was a suicide attack," according to McEwen, "this is the type of attack you see in the Middle East...this is textbook ISIS."
