Tune in here to this Friday’s edition of the Brett Winterble Show!
Brett kicks off the program with Pete Kaliner for this edition of The Hangover as they discuss the debate surrounding AI data centers, water usage and the importance of recycling. Brett and Pete revisit the idea that Earth’s water supply is finite but constantly cycles through different forms, leading to a humorous conversation about whether water used by data centers is actually being “lost.” The pair also reflect on how their generation learned before the internet, recalling encyclopedias, libraries, card catalogs and the Dewey Decimal System as examples of how much more effort it once took to find information.
Later Brett discusses the debate over immigration numbers in the United States after a former Border Patrol official claimed that 107 million illegal immigrants are currently living in the country. Brett questions where the figure came from while acknowledging the difficulty of determining exactly how many people are living in the United States, particularly given the number of people who enter through both the southern and northern borders.
