Rampant criminality is threatening mining operations in KwaZulu-Natal with 5000 jobs in imminent danger of being lost.
Criminal syndicates are plundering global miner Rio Tinto’s operations with near impunity.
They are heavily armed and have, so far, killed 11 employees who tried to prevent theft.
The company says it is receiving little to no help from the government.
