Bongani Bingwa speaks to Adél Kriel, Hollard South Africa’s Head of Experiential Marketing, about the return of the Hollard Daredevil Run on Friday, 23 October 2026. Now in its 17th year, the campaign will see thousands of men take on a 5km run in purple speedos to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer, while encouraging men to get checked early. The event has raised millions for the Cancer Association of South Africa and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa. Last year, it raised R1.2 million, with organisers hoping to make an even bigger impact this year. Beyond the fun and the purple speedos, the message is serious: early detection can save lives. Prostate cancer affects one in eight men in their lifetime, while testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15 to 49.
