The Bob Siegel Show

Bob critiques the Five Points of Calvinism, a theology that teaches election and predestination. Bob shows how on some matters Calvinists are partially correct, but he also balances certain verses with a proper biblical context showing human free will.

Continuing from last week Bob  addresses questions about the way God is portrayed in each Testament.

Bob starts by talking about ancient adoption in the Roman world and how these images would have been in the minds of Christians when Paul wrote them and compared this to being adopted as children of God. ALSO: Bob answers a listener who does not like the way God is portrayed in Old Testament books such as Exodus.

Bob welcomes back Zak Kroger who came on his show often years ago for friendly discussion/debate about atheism, theism, and Christianity. They catch up on the latest trends in atheist organizations and the Evangelical movement. There is also some conversation about a case for the existence of God from the starting point of questioning the origin of human consciousness.

Bob discusses the sad idea held by some in the church that repentance from sin is not necessary for salvation and challenges this view with Scripture.

Bob explains (based on Romans 5) that what Adam did in the garden, any one of us would have done.

While acknowledging Paul's description of the church as the new Israel, Bob shows how Paul also reminded people that God still works with physical, national Israel.

Bob discusses the Biblical definition of sin and the origin of sin in a fallen world.

Dana Siegel co-hosts with Bob. Together, they interview Ray Christiansen, illustrator of The Dangerous Christmas Ornament Coloring Book. For several years now, Bob Siegel’s novel, The Dangerous Christmas Ornament, has been loved by children and adults of all ages. Written as an entertaining fantasy-adventure, the story also includes important moral lessons which have encouraged teachers and church youth pastors to include the book in their programs!  Helping out with such objectives, Bob teamed up with talented artist Ray Christiansen to provide a fun, companion coloring book. Each page reflects a key scene from the story, along with a relevant Scripture verse.

Bob discusses two Bible related topics. The Book of Enoch and a recent archaeology find that gives credibility to the story of David and Goliath. ALSO: Bob’s producer Brendan Thomas shares his favorite and least favorite Christmas songs and carols. Needless to say, Bob responds with some opinion of his own.
