• Elders should be held to high standards, as seen in 1 Timothy and Titus, where specific guidelines are laid out for who can and cannot be an elder.
• The importance of not being carried away by various and strange teachings, and the need to double-check all theology with Scripture.
• Christians must separate themselves from the world and its teachings, just as Jesus did when He went outside the camp to suffer for our sins.
