"How Can I Get My Siblings to Pray the Rosary?" (The Inner Life with Patrick Conley)

View descriptionShare

Does your family pray the Rosary together? Does it help your kids to stay close to God?

On this episode of The Inner Life, Patrick Conley and Father Dave Heney chatted about a super inspiring topic: how a young listener named Bridget can inspire her siblings to join her in praying the Rosary. Let's get into this touching and inspiring story! 📿

Caller Spotlight: Bridget from Fort Wayne, IN

Bridget, who's just 17, called in with a big question on her heart. She really wants to bring back the family tradition of praying the Rosary together. When she was younger, her family prayed the Rosary every evening at 7 p.m., but as they got older and started moving out, that tradition kind of faded. Now, Bridget wants to revive it, even though her siblings aren't always getting along.

Father Dave's Advice 🌼

Father Dave had some amazing tips to share with Bridget:

Gentle Invitation: Instead of telling her siblings what to do, Bridget could simply invite them to join her in prayer at a specific time and place. Make it sound peaceful and inviting.

Consistency & Patience: Even if she starts off praying alone, she should keep at it and extend the invitation regularly. Patience is key here!

Non-Coercive Approach: No one likes feeling pressured. The invitation should be warm and free from any guilt trips.

Personal Testimony: When her family sees how happy and peaceful the Rosary makes her, they might just want to join in. Her own joy can be super contagious!

Patrick Conley's Extra Tips 💡

Patrick jumped in with some extra ideas:

Family Rosary Across America with Fr. Rocky and Maggie: He suggested that Bridget and her family check out this daily event on Relevant Radio. It's at 7 p.m. Central and includes prayer intentions from all over the country. Plus, it’s interactive and communal, which might just make it more engaging for her family.

Final Encouragement 🌷

Bridget got some serious encouragement from both Father and Patrick. They reassured her that her desire to bring her family together through prayer is truly beautiful. By setting a positive example and staying patient, she could really make a difference.

So Bridget, keep shining your light and inviting your family with a joyful heart. Your peace and happiness from the Rosary can be the spark that brings everyone back together. 🌟🙏
