The History of the Brown Scapular

Way back in the 1200s, in Aylesford Priory, England... St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite monk, had this famous encounter: Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared to him and showed him the Brown Scapular.

For religious folks, the scapular is part of their habit. For laypeople, it’s the mini version:
👉 two little squares of cloth, connected by strings, worn under your clothes.
