Matt Emery of Round The Bend Now & Then  shares details on what we now see today as Potawatomi Park and Zoo! Back in the day it went from being the local poor farm, the local fairgrounds, a tourist camp, and even an open air Tuberculosis camp!

Round The Bend Now & Then: History of Potawatomi Park 

This week felt like it was officially summer as we spent great time out at the St. Joe Co. 4-H Fair! 

From the incredible show with Hannah Harper, to Kid's Day, and the Youth Talent Show, we were so lucky to be a part of something so special! 

Reed was back from vacation and described it as: "STUNNING!"

He spent some time with tourists to ask some Patriotic Trivia, and their answers might surprise you...

Garth Brooks announced a massive World-wide tour and we are GEEKED that he's kicking it all off in Indy on Aug. 21st-22nd! 

How many corndogs do you think you could consume to be the champion? Brittney was there to witness the corn-doggy goodness where one champion was able to down 11!! 

It was a great week with awesome guests including Stacy Vervynckt with the Mishawaka Business Association ahead of Kamm Island Fest, and Amanda Buchholz with CASA of St. Joseph County as she shared the importance of advocating for children right here in Michiana!

The Best of the B100 Morning Show: 07/10/26

Matt Emery is in studio to share all about the history of the incredible local gem: Potawatomi Zoo!!

While the Zoo is an incredible place for our community today, it was a much different place decades ago. 

The zoo accepted animal donations, and in fact reached out to residents to help in their hunt for new raccoons! Unfortunately with free access to the animals in their enclosures, it wasn't always the safest place for the animals when people would give monkeys cigarettes and food! 

Matt had the chance to share the history of the zoo with the current Executive Director, Josh Sisk, on the latest episode of his podcast!

Round The Bend Now & Then: Potawatomi Zoo Beginning

This week was so fun! We started off the week with a recap from Zooluminate and Tabor Hill Winery! There are so many amazing gems that make Michiana such a great place to live! 

We announced that the ACM Female Vocalist of the year, Avery Anna, is coming to the Blue Gate, and we absolutely loved Mike's enthusiasm to be the first person in Michiana to win tickets!  

Speaking of tickets, we had a blast sending Sherri, Lisa, Jennifer and more to see Jeff Dunham at the Morris 7/17!

Oh, and where were you when you got stuck or stranded? How about a mud bog for 12 hours? :-O

There were great moments of laughter, fun, and heart! Let's do it again next week!
