More than two years after the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, newly released FBI records are shedding light on gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks while fueling fresh questions about what investigators knew and when they knew it. Newly disclosed documents reveal Crooks' use of aliases, including the name "Bob Dole," extensive firearms-related purchases, alleged acquisition of explosive materials, surveillance of the rally site, drone activity near the event, and other details that suggest significant planning before the attack. The records also include previously undisclosed information from interviews with Crooks' family, along with questions surrounding unidentified individuals connected to him and an anonymous donor who reportedly paid for his cremation.
