In this episode of the Ben Ferguson Show Podcast, Ben discusses claims surrounding debanking practices, a reported OCC review of major U.S. banks, the role of federal regulators, and the broader implications for free speech, religious liberty, financial access, energy producers, firearms businesses, and politically active organizations. The conversation also explores whether new legislative protections are needed to prevent future administrations from influencing banking access based on ideology or lawful business activity.

A new review from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is at the center of a debate over whether federal regulators pressured major financial institutions to restrict banking services for certain customers based on political, religious, or industry affiliations. The discussion focuses on reported concerns involving firearms businesses, energy companies, religious organizations, and conservative groups. Ben Ferguson examines allegations that federal regulators under the Obama and Biden administrations used regulatory pressure to influence banking decisions. He argues that large banks faced significant regulatory risks and that concerns over "reputation risk" policies contributed to account closures, lending restrictions, and other banking limitations affecting lawful organizations and businesses.

Topics Covered:
The reported OCC review and findings involving major U.S. banks and debanking concerns.
"Reputation risk" policies and their impact on banking relationships.
Claims involving firearms manufacturers, gun retailers, and Second Amendment businesses.
Energy sector concerns, including oil, gas, coal, and financing access.
Religious organizations, pro-life groups, and allegations of viewpoint-based banking decisions.
Whether Congress should establish stronger protections against politically motivated debanking.
