In this episode, Ben Ferguson examines the rapid growth in Social Security number issuance connected to work authorization programs, the Congressional Budget Office's estimates regarding immigration-related public spending, and the broader economic debate surrounding immigration policy. He also reviews claims regarding federal benefit usage and the financial impact on state and local governments. The episode then turns to national security, focusing on Secretary Mullin's statements about terrorist arrests, asylum processing, identity fraud, and the administration's efforts to strengthen border security through what officials describe as a smarter and more technologically advanced system.

New data on immigration, taxpayer costs, and national security is fueling fresh debate over the consequences of the Biden administration’s border and work authorization policies. According to figures discussed in this episode, millions of non-citizens received Social Security numbers after obtaining federal work authorization between 2021 and 2024. Critics argue the program expanded dramatically during the Biden years and contributed to growing costs for taxpayers through government benefits, healthcare programs, and other public services. At the same time, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin says the Trump administration has arrested more than 2,220 known terrorists inside the United States, a figure he argues highlights the security vulnerabilities created by previous immigration enforcement policies. The administration is also promoting a new border security strategy built around surveillance technology, drones, layered physical barriers, and what officials describe as a more aggressive enforcement approach.
