This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast with i R Radio. It's another week of the Almost Famous podcast with my terrific co host Ashley Iken Eddie Ashley, how you doing, Hey, Ben? I'm good. How are you anything interesting to regale me with from the past week? Oh? My? You know what I've done this last week? I've started going to bed listening to the Spotify station meditation. So I had these headphones in and I go to bed listening to it, and I feel like I am sleeping so well, really, I used to do that too, But I have a question about meditations and so trendy these days. Do you actually clear your mind or just think about one thing constancy on one thing or is it more of like getting you into like a peaceful internal state. I'm not good at meditating. I don't think my mind like goes in a thousand directions. And so I was telling my counselor this and they were saying that I need to practice this thing. I think it's called like, uh, focus concentration. So I pick a feeling and emotion or a word that I want to focus on, So like joy is a good one, right, And you just continue to say joy in your like in your mind, and like as soon as your mind starts to drift away, you just go back to it, and like you you start over and you just say joy and joy and you kind of breathe it and you start to try to start it, you try to start to feel it. And I I think I'm okay at it. I don't think I'm great, but it helps me at least try to stay focused and like relax and take away all the stresses that you know, maybe came with the day. Interesting, Okay, all right, I can get into that. It's trendy. Hey, h Ashley, I think, uh, you and I were chatting and I think we both want to say, like, hey, this is a week and we get to on the on the day of. But happy Mother's Day to um, mothers of biological children, mothers of foster children, mothers that have adopted, mothers of people, mothers who have cared for others who just I read yesterday that mothers are Mothering is a verb, so you know it does. It means nothing more than the care and nurture and be a friend to those around you. So hey, happy Mother's Day to to everyone. Were you with Jesse's Mom or your Mom. Yesterday I was with Jesse's mom. But I've been doing this show on Sunday nights called Hope Still Wins, And uh, my mom was my guest last night, and uh, she just hit it out of the park. She shared her story of her We called it a process to motherhood and she shared a story you know, a few months ago. I don't know if you remember, but I had mentioned during the podcast that, uh, you know, I was learning um a lot, that like people's stories really matter and that you can't assume. And my mom shared her story and the reason you know, where that came from and why I learned that. So it was really powerful for me. I'm really proud of her, and I don't know, it's just special to to hear that and to know that my mom is strong and courageous and she's speaking her story. Now that's one of that's not easy to share, and she did last night. So I got to talk to her on Instagram live. That's awesome. Um, I have to watch those. So it's every Sunday at what time, eight seventh Central. Uh, it's been really fun. We've I've had some of my favorite people on and and it's just been a good just a good time to learn that you know, all of us are pretty messed up. We all got our issues. Um, we're all struggling at some level, but you know we're not alone. And it's been a good reminder for me and just hearing from some really bright minds. So, yeah, what about you. How was your mother's day? My mom had a good day, Like we just we just had a good day. Um. We planned on like picking up maggianos, but that failed because every single straw in the area was totally jam packed, no longer accepting like any online orders. So I scrambled and I put together this macaroni and cheese and broccoli cast role and she was like, this is better than anything you could have ordered. And we just had like a nice family meal. And uh, what else did I do with my mom yesterday? Are you a chef? Do you cook a lot? Um? I like cooking, I really do. I don't have like a ton of recipes under my belt, though I wish I could expand beyond pasta because that's definitely my specialty. Um, and I've been trying to eat a lot less meat lately. Um, so it's kind of hard to come up with things that will learn pasta to make when you're trying to be better about being like a little bit more Presbyterian. Well, it's one of the reasons we're doing What's Cooking vatch Nation, our segment that will come at the end of this episode, at the end of every episode during self isolation, where a bachelination contestant shows us and teaches us maybe a new recipe to cook. I would love to learn some new ones. Do you think your mother left Mother's Day feeling loved? She did? I know this. She's like, it was a really good Mother's Day. It just like doesn't really matter what you do or what you give her, as long as you spend that quality time, which I've gotten eight weeks, which is super awesome. I've loved it. I know I'm gonna just keep thinking about the separation anxiety I'm going to have for my mom and my dad when we leave. So it's gonna be really hard. I think it will be an adjustment. I would imagine it's going to be adjustment kind of getting back into the swing of things. I don't know, Yeah, like wait, we record from home. I can stay here with my sweats and not have to drive out to the bourbon um. Well, ash I'm glad your mom had a great day. And uh and if somebody out there is wanting to watch, it is on Instagram live my mom's story and it is one that I think will help listeners to this hope me them make a lot more sense of me and why I am the way I am and what probably annoys them about me and why that is and where my story comes from as well. So, hey, Ashley, bachel Nation again has not stopped with the headlines, So let's take a break. When we come back, we'll talk everything going on in Bachelor Nation this last week since the last time we talked. ABC is still planning on making a new season of The Bachelor. This according to Chris Harrison we read on BuzzFeed, but Chris says it will likely move to a different state. Yeah, so he doesn't think that California is ready as far as like being calm with COVID to start filming in the state. Um. He thinks that they should go to a different state where the spread I guess isn't so rapid and that they are getting more accustomed to life outside the home. He singests, Texas, which I think is interesting since that's his home state. Um, but I guess it really doesn't matter where they film because it looks as if they'll be renting out a resort hotel and filming the entire season there without any travel, So I don't think it's gonna affect the vibe in any way. Do you think we'll ever see the Bachelor Mansion again? I mean, I know we talked about this a couple of weeks ago. I think it's gonna be really tempting to not use the Listen to your Heart mansion for everything going forward. It just seems like a more comfortable living environment, and now with a year away and remove from it, you know, the fans will be removed from an even longer. I wonder if there'll be a pull back there be interesting to see what happens, but who knows. It sounds like they're working though, to make a Bachelor season happen. I know also they're working behind the scenes to do these like recap shows that we talked about a few weeks ago as well, where they kind of highlight a season in in like a three hour period of time. So the producers at the Bachelor are busy at work. Oh. I should also mention that Chris Harrison says that he's not okay with it being a Zoom season, and I don't think any fan would be either. No, I don't think that. I think that would be a whole new show, and I think it'd be really hard to get into. Firstly, Caitlin Bristow, Tanner Tolbert, and more members of Bachelor Nation react to Chris Soul's and Victoria Fuller's relationship. This, according to US magazine, So funny how people are just so weirded out by this couple for some reason. I'm not that weird out by it, because I mean, are we supposed to think that every couple makes sense on paper in life? No, we don't know Victoria like how she is in real life, and you and I know Chris, and who knows. Maybe they're compatible or maybe they're the perfect like ying Yang sweet sour salty mix right where she's a little bit more out ooken, a little bit more outgoing. Um, she's she's got a little bit more of an attitude. And then Chris is so laid back and just sweet and go with the flow that perhaps like it's really a good combination. I have we yet to get officially confirmed that they are dating. No, I mean like she pretty much confirmed it, being that she took a picture and made the geo tag um Iowa. Wait, what what's his state? What's his town? NYA? Oh shoot, I don't know, it's a sat Yeah. Well, yeah, that that would be a pretty good hint. I don't know why she'd be passing through. There was that, and then they also took and posted the same picture of a sunset to their Instagram stories. It's kind of cute. I mean, but can we talk about the pressure on a new relationship. You're talking about like probably never having met each other in real life to being quarantined for what seems to be I don't know if she's still there, but like she was, there were at least two weeks, two or three weeks. How do you go from no time together to three straight weeks of no a long time? It would be a big change. Now. Granted, I think Chris is property so big that if they need to get away, they could, But yeah, I mean that is but I also feel like we've seen some successful quarantine relationships obviously announced Peter and Kelly are together. Uh, you know, Jessica and I had never spent um as much time as we're spending together now. I know you and Jared are getting good like marriage time with your families. It feels like people are, if they're able, spending some really quality time with their partners. And I haven't heard of any massive fall out yet. Yeah, me neither, So we'll see. Hannah Brown's mom appears to throw shade at her daughter's ex, Jed wyatt Is. According to e Online. Okay, so this week, Hannah's mom posted an Instagram. It was her brother's birthday, so her son's birthday, and the caption read this, thank you God for letting him stay with me a little bit longer. You listen to my prayers and he is going to have a wonderful life. She this is captioned with the photo being a picture of Patrick, and then it says the best mother's day anyone could ask for. And I don't have a son in law that hurts my ears when he sings. So there's the shade, very random, thoughtful message towards her son. And then she says, glad I don't have a son in law that doesn't hurt my ears. When he sings with a prayer hands emoji, it says prayers have been answered. That she went Adam, she went hard. I know, but it's so random. It's so random, like, yeah, you're talking about your son and then all of a sudden you talk about your possible son in law from a year ago. Yeah. That she did not She did not take to go lightly at jed She went hard at him. Um. It must be an inside joke maybe. But then Hannah goes on and writes underneath the photo saying, mom, we should probably make some edits to this, which is a pretty funny response. Mm hmmm. Uh well. Another headline of Hannah Brown Bachelor at Hannah Brown says she's single but definitely wants to be in a relationship. That's according to people. Not much more to this story except for the fact that Hannah has been single for pretty much a year now, and she says she hasn't been ready to date until just about now. However, of course, the quarantine situation just not making that easy. It's uh, you know what, I'm still there's so many Hannah and Tyler topics that come up week to week. Can we call it insane. It is insane. This one's the next is Tyler Cameron reveals the heartbreaking reason he's not ready to date. So basically, this says that Tyler's mom, of course, passed away a couple of months ago, and that right now he's focusing on taking care of his brothers. Both of them are, you know, significantly younger. His youngest brother is twenty years old, and he just feels like it's his place to kind of take over that nurturing role for them, and he doesn't think it's the appropriate time to start dating someone new, especially of course and quarantine well in the same breath. Actually, Tyler Cameron wants to set up his dad with bachelorette pal Dylan Barber's mom. This according to US Magazine. Yeah, so we know that Dylan's father passed away a couple of years ago. He talked to us about that in the in depth episode, and his mom seems to be ready to date. And Tyler's dad, who divorced his mom, who you know recently passed away, um over a decade ago. I believe, um. They they're both single, they both seem ready to mingle, and Dylan and Tyler being good friends and want to set their parents up. It makes sense. Well. Moving on from Tyler in Hannah, then, Chris Harrison did some very point of interviews over the last few weeks. He's been out in the news talking and it's kind of interesting to hear his perspective. Very interesting. I think Chris Harrison calls Peter Webber a mess and says he wants to scream at him. This according to Cosmopolitan. Yeah, so he was on the Kelly Clarkson Show this week and said that he just wanted to grab Peter by the shoulders and shake him and be like, yo, get yourself together. He said, come on, man, pull it together. He said he was a mess coming down the stretch and uh, that is that's something has to say about that. He also was a wild ending. We can say that, right, Ash. We both agreed like this, this was a mess. Yes, it completely wasn't He also said on series Sex and this week that he felt sick to his stomach watching Maddie have to be berated by Barb during after the final rows. He said that he felt really bad for this poor girl who was getting taken apart on live TV. What was she supposed to do? And what was Peter supposed to do. Did he at any point say he agreed with Barb or was this just say hey, I don't I feel terrible for Maddie. It was just and I feel terrible for Maddie. Wow. Yeah. The Chris Harrison hasn't been afraid of talking publicly about the show, which I appreciate, but doesn't happen all the time. We don't get a lot of Chris Harrison juicy headlines on the Breakdown. Well, hey, two more stories to break down for you. Uh, the headline is no other caption needed. Bachelor atte star praised for body positive pool side selfie. This according to Yahoo, and they're speaking about Ali Fiatowski. Mano. Yeah, so at least Sam as before. But this picture again got some some waves on the internet. She posted a picture of pool side of her tummy which has carried it two children over the past couple of years, and she's got a whole bunch of extra skin there and she's embracing it and she's like, Yo, mom's uh, just letting you know that my tommy probably looks a lot like yours and vice versa. So a lot of women have um commented under the picture saying how thankful she was about being so raw and honest with how her body is after childbirth. How do you think people respond actually as a woman. Yeah, Like, and you have friends who have had children. How do you think women respond when they see something like that and they feel like they can relate and that they feel maybe less alone? Yeah, I mean I think that's just it. They just feel less alone. They feel less insecure about their own bodies and they know that. Uh. No matter like how in shape you look when you're on TV in a cute dress, you are in shape. But like, that doesn't mean that there are on other effects that are so normal that have been left on your body. Well, hey, awesome for Ali Fitatowski. Mano. Uh and coming off of that story to Caitlin Bristow gets vulnerable this week and share some raw information. Yeah. So. Um. Caitlin has a new show. It is called Nine to Wine. It's on YouTube, and she talks in the first episode about this horrible depression that she went through after she broke up with her boyfriend, a hockey player who was she was living with in Germany and she came back home. She was she was living with her parents again. And she said that she's just so depressed. And when she went to go see a psychiatrist, they gave her name depressed, but they also gave her valium. And she just got addicted to the valium and she got to be so skinny. She just wasn't eating, and she you know, said that she had to work her way out of that addiction to the valium um and and she, you know, at that point in her life, she was feeling so low. But she picked herself up, moved to Vancouver, and then she kind of she was, you know, making a career for herself. And then one of her friends said, you should sign up for the Bachelor. You love love so much. And look at where she is now. She's thriving. Tell us about the Nine to Wind you know anything about it. It's just a new YouTube series that she's going to be like opening her soul on every week. I'm not sure if they're all going to be like this Quarantine episode where she basically sits and just has an intimate chat with her followers. It was twenty minutes. I watched the whole thing. It was like you're having a conversation with her, but she, you know, she was the only one talking. But you know, Caitlin has that awesome ability to be able to talk to an audience and feel make it feel like it's a conversation. And um, I guess we're gonna get to learn other aspects about Caitlin's life that she hasn't shared yet on our podcast. But I don't know if it's going to be like a follow doc or if it's going to be more of like a fireside chat like it was this episode. Well, as usual, Caitlin Bristow is out there just rocking and rolling and we're a big fan of that. Ashley, it's time for us to take a little break. When we come back, we're gonna break down this week's episode of Listen to Your Heart, then bring in Matt from Listen to Your Heart to speak to him about the show, and finally we're gonna do a what's cooking Batch Nation segment. Ashley, we'll be back this week's Listen to Your Heart. It's getting down to the end, which means that we would expect drama to ensue. Ashley, what do you think of this week? Break it down? Hey? We uh man? This week? What do you think I'm thinking? Right? Now, what do you think I'm thinking, Ben, I think you're sad. Yes, I think you're sad. Go ahead, let it out. I'm so upset. I mean, I know obviously that Ryan and Natashi don't have some amazing romance. I don't think they have anything at all. They gave him the least romantic date there could be. They played with like construction machinets, they played with bulldozers. Um. I thought that they were ignoring their relationship most of the episode, and I thought like they were doing so because they just wanted us to focus on their performance, because their performances are so strong. But to go from last week's amazing performance that I watched four times over and over again, yeah, to this week's performance, which I have to admit was pretty darn sucky. But then to eliminate them because of one crappy performance that was upsetting. But I also was very, very prepared for it because the other couples are so much stronger, and I think at the end of the day, the show is still a Bachelor show and the love is going to trump the performance. So I'm very sad, but I'm at least happy that it was like five of the six episodes. Ryan was president. Uh, and I know there's just one episode that I'm going to have to get through without my my boy band Broadway musician. You know, he's super talented, they both are. It was not the right song for them. It felt weird. It was weird, and like the arrangement and the fact that she left up and saying a different verse. I was like, did they do that on purpose? Did some did somebody tell her to do that so they could just like flounder? I don't know. I thought that they think may have been told the flounder on purpose because their relationship wasn't strong enough. Okay, that's all. Well, if we started the beginning of the episode here, the couples this week are Matt and Rudy, Jamie and Trevor, Chris and Bree, Ryan and Natasha. Chris Harritchinson arrives at the mansion and as usual, he has big news for the contestants involved. He said, they're heading from the mansion and going to Las Vegas. So they jump in their own tour buses and get on the road. So I'm gonna stop here and actually think one of the funniest parts about this to me was they're acting like this is a long road trip. It's like a four hour drive. All they're gonna get to know each other so well in the four hours. I said the same thing to my mom. She's like, oh my god, this is so cool. It's like, Mom, they're gonna be on the bus for four hours. Um. Also, Ben, I couldn't stop thinking about the cost of a tour bus, having known how much your tour buses cost for a week of being out on The Bachelor Live tour. It is not cheap at all. It's very, very not economical. So you're looking, You're looking at these tour buses. I'm thinking, how cool it is. I just got off tour and it was awesome, Like it was such a cool like experience for me personally, and to live on a tour bus. It was a big change, but it was fun. It was exciting. So hey, you get a four hour drive from l A to Vegas. The funniest part is these couples are getting out and like, I remember one of the couples I forget, who's like, oh, we watched a couple of movies and struggled. You ever you watched movies, you only have time for like maybe a movie and a half by a time that Hanks starts totally. I was like, you wasted your alone time with with the movie. Well, I guess like when I don't know, I Jared and I kind of did that in our fantasy sleep. People are like, what did you do? I was like, well, we watched a TV show in the morning. It was really nice to watch TV because you've been without TV for like two weeks at this point. It's uh, you know what it was. It was sweet. I get why, and I'm sure, I'm sure it was fun on So I don't want to poo poo their tour from l A to Vegas, but let's be serious. Let's be honest. Most people would drive from l A to Vegas for like even a day just to kind of hang out in in the city. So the first date card comes is to Breathe and Chris and it says a love like this will last forever, and they head to the Little White Chapel yep, and they watched a couple get married and they sing for them and that's it. You know. All those teases about them getting married in a little white chapel were, of course just that teasus it kind of felt like they could though, Like this couple is legit. I felt like they could too. I wouldn't have been surprised if they did. I would have been like, Yeah, I think they're gonna be together forever. And based on the fact that we had that conversation with Breed last week and she keeps talking about them in the present tense, I'm like, yeah, they're still a geller and I feel like I think they're gonna end up together. Could I go as far as to say this is one of the most uh what I want to say, like noticeable uh connections that I've ever seen on a bachelor's show, the two of them together, Yeah, I would say that it feels very peacefully. It's something to celebrate. Yeah, it's very celebratory. Um So the date Carniver two comes in your leve will keep you warm. This is to Trevor and Jamie. They're playing hockey or ice skating at the stadium there in Las Vegas. Yeah, the T Mobile Arena, And I'm like, wow, they spend a lot of money on the Seaton. Uh. They go ice skating where the Las Vegas Nights play And that was a really cool experience. Trevor was a former hockey player and Jamie. You know, there's points in this episode where I just keep thinking, man, this girl is so twenty one. She's telling Rudy to say I love you. She wants to say I love you to Trevor after two weeks, and I'm like, two weeks. I was like, girl, just keep it and just play it cool. But she is relatable in the sense that, like she she's a little awkward. She's so excited about everything that's going on, and she just can't keep it in. She says I love you. And then even though Trevor says to her, like ten minutes earlier that he can't say I'm following for you until he really feels it, apparently he did really feel it because there are on the rink and he says, I'm following for you too. It's uh, you know, so far it's a match made and listen to your heart history. I mean, there's some good couples going on now. Later on in the podcast, we're gonna have Matt on to talk about his relationship with Rudy's, but we do want to mention that the date card came out to Matt and Rudy and said it's you, it's both of you. And they went to a concert that Shaggy performed at Shaggy. Uh. So let's stop here, Ashley, because to your point earlier, you are saddened because every day to this point was romantic or fun, like fun and like the Shaggy concert, maybe not the most romantic concert, but exciting. You got to get on stage, you got to sing and dance with Shaggy. And then we have the date card number four come for Ryan and Natasha and it says it's time to dig deep. They are destroying cars, so random. Yeah, so they just definitely put them on the least romantic date. But that's because there's nothing there, Like it would be so awkward to see them at a candlelight dinner, right, mm hmm. They just both have amazing talent. Like what do you at this point, what do you assume their conversations are? Like do you think they both believe? I mean you saw later on when Natasha left and Ryan left at Ryan hints to her, Hey, I want to see if this can work outside of this. Is that something that you believe is still going on? But I do I think that Yan is probably thinking, man, I am so good at performing with this girl, as we saw in the two weeks prior, like you know, last weekend, the week before that. He probably doesn't want to drop out on what they could do together on stage, probably wants to keep some sort of performance relationship together, especially since they'll be paired in Bachelor Nation, so it's best to monopolize on That makes sense. I mean we move on then, So the dates have happened, the connections exist. Actually, you're saddened because you felt like that Ryan and Tasha did not have a romantic date. I would agree, but hey, we're excited for their performance because their performance always pulls out. I wasn't waiting for them to just blow the pants off that performance, and I was so disappointed. Everybody was better than them. Let's go and talk about the performances. Chris and Brewer. The judges this week are Ari and Lauren Lyon and Dyke, Pat moynihand Massive name from Train and Ashley and Evan Ross formerly known as Ashley Simpson was her maiden name. Chris and Brie, We're first. They sing a song by Elvis. I can't help falling in love? Yeah, at first I'm like, Chris, this isn't giving Chris the vocal range that he's so good in. And then halfway through they amped it up and I thought it was amazing. They did a great job, and she sounded probably the best that she has all season, in my opinion, I'd agree. I mean, Chris started out, you know, shaky like that, those first couple of notes, We're like, Oh, what's gonna where is this gonna go? This isn't what you're used to. But by the end, I mean, I think I'm learning. I'm learning something from this show is when you do have a true connection with somebody, I think you see, I think it does show through music, and I think his true connection with bree helped him take it up a notch. After those first couple of notes were shaky, and by the end we were all we had forgotten the beginning. We were just celebrating them as a couple again. And I agreed with what I think Evan said. He said that even though it wasn't like his perfect register, because he was so gentle and sensitive singing those lines, it almost made up for it. Chris is a talented Breeze, extremely talented. I'm just a huge fan of this couple. It's fun to see no matter you know the show or not, it's fun to see a connection made like this. We got to celebrate love when it exists, and it's love. It's definitely existing between them. The next performance was Jamie and Trevor Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum. I was very surprised that the two of them were not super familiar with this song, especially with Jamie being a Nashville native and a country singer. Um. But we got to see Jamie have this amazing jolt of confidence this week because I think they exchanged the I fall I'm falling in love with you and she is rock to the stage. She didn't have her normal jitters. She expressed herself with confidence, and I thought they it was their best performance so far. When you get told when you you know, risk saying hey, I love you to somebody and they respond back like, how good does that feel? It's the best. I mean, it's only happened to me once in my life, but it was the greatest. And I when I saw that scene, I flashed back to where I was when Jared told me for the first time, that's so cool. As there really is. I mean it does, because you can see it in Jamie this week. She's doing like high kicks in address. She's like, I don't know. She was like ready to explode through a wall. That girl was so pumped up. It was awesome to see and the love existed on stage and the two of them crushed it. Natasha and Ryan were up next. They sang perfect by ed Shearon Yep and that I didn't even recognize this song. I didn't recognize the sob. It was weird and apparently, like I said earlier, in Natasha sang a verse that was supposed to be his, and I was wondering during the performance. I was like, why isn't he singing at all? And then she grabbed two Mike's and then he started like playing the guitar and walking down the catwalk and it was just so chrish. If only those judges saw them last week, I know, I'll drop it. I'll drop it. It's tough. It was hard to watch, but I do think, you know, the three couples remaining have the best connections as well, so uh. The last couple, Rudy and Matt singing Shallow from a Star is Born we'll talk to Matt about it more here and just a little bit, but from our perspective, just one of our favorite songs. Oh absolutely, And this is the song that they teased the whole season with, and it's the song that I, true to rely was like, why are they teasing this season with? Because it's the one of the best songs of the past decade and it's got to be one of the most chemistry field performances that US millennials have probably ever seen, and it's a lot to live up to, and I just kind of wanted them to let it lie. It's kind of like when they reboot your favorite show or they do a sequel to your favorite movie. You're like, oh, just let it lie. But they I think Rudy and Matt did it did a justice. I mean, it ain't Loo Gaga and Bradley Cooper, but pretty good. It was super good. I I thought it was a great performance. We'll talk to Matt here about it just a little bit. Well. That leads us to the rose ceremony. Jamie and Trevor receive a rose, then Matt and Rudy receiver rose. Finally Chris and Bree receiver rose, and Ashley, Bryan and Natasha are sent home. Yes, bye, guys, it was a pleasure watching you. Well. Ryan was super talented, Natasha just an incredible artist. The two of them will be just fine. I we wish and the best in their careers because I think the two of them are are just off to do amazing things and music. But the contestants that are left, well, they're off to one of the best music cities in the world. According to Chris Harrison, they're heading to Nashville. Ashley, what do you expect with the upcoming episodes, Well, I'm wondering if it's gonna be like American Idol where for the finale they're each going to sing two songs together, because I think it'd be weird if, like on this last chance to perform on a stage and like before their crowned listen to your heart couple, if they only get one song, they should get multiple songs. Yeah, like really music focused kind of You know, you have the dates, but you also have a lot of more a lot more music next week. This one performance thing just hasn't given me personally enough And can we figure out the criteria that makes you the couple that is the listen your Heart winner. We don't know is it going to be based on love performance? I mean because at this point when it comes to the depth of a relationship, I think we just have to say that Chris and Brewery just win. Yeah, I mean, yeah, you're right. We we haven't heard yet. Is this up to the judges? Is it up to a fan vote? Uh? Is it just the most talented performance? Is Chris Harrison just picking his favorite. We don't know this yet, but it is a big deal to win, like this could change their careers. But it also could be like Bachelor Winter Games where it was like there were four remaining couples and everybody kind of one except for them, Like they crowned somebody at the end, and then it's like it's just for fun. Yeah, then it's over. Yeah, the only loser was like me and Michael g It's kind of like, um, it's actually very much like the Too Hot to Handle Show, which I know you have and watch, but ONTI out to handle it? Like they don't really know how they're going to split the money up in the end, and in the end they're like, oh, we each got five thousand dollars each and taxes are cretic getting taken out and uh cool, yeah it sounds good. Uh hey, well, Ashley, Uh this show this week, I'm gonna we end every episode with this, and you're rating from this episode for Listen to Your Heart? Was I thoroughly enjoyed. Let's give it a nay, I would give it an a awsome. The last two weeks have been a lot better. I've actually enjoyed and and appreciated watching them. Uh, this has been a fun journey to see these couples fall in love and to connect over music. So I've given an a as well. I wasn't sold on the show at first. I'm getting sold as we go. I gotta say with Listen to Your Heart, I love the character development. I feel like I know these characters by week five better than I know most characters on The Bachelor by week five or even Bachelor in Paradise. It's it's obviously more closer aligned with Paradise. Yeah, yeah, it's Uh, it's been it's been an interesting journey. I would say this actually the closest thought I would agree with you on all things. I thought Natasha and Ryan did not have a great date. I thought their song was weird, But I do think that I have invested into these characters now, these people, and I want to see I want to see love exist. I think it would be awesome. Uh if we could see some couples come from this, well, hey, I'm so excited to see if they put any of these guys into Bachelor in Paradise. Whenever that may happen, I think it's a given. You know what, Actually, what would you do if Ryan shows up to the beach with a guitar? Well, that's what Jared was like. Jared's so he saw that I was annoyed that my favorite was gonna get eliminated. And he comes and watches for like the only time he gets watched, and he's like, I can't wait to see her action. And then I was like, Jared, Ryan, it's a goot a Paradise. And then he's like, Actuley, He's going to Para yes, And then I was like, but we need to see him seeing in Paradise. He's like, you know they're gonna be giving him a guitar. Yeah, that dude's gonna have a while. That dude's not ready for Paradise. Blow mind, Holy caw Uh, well, hey, let's take a break. When we come back, we're gonna bring on Matt from Listen to Your Heart to break down his relationship with Brudy and everything Listen to your Heart up to this point in the season. Alright, we got Matt on the line. Matt, Hey, welcome to the Almost Nest Podcast. Thank you for having me. So we want to recap with you right now what went on in this episode five, because you and Rudy were probably the main stars the most air time on this episode. But before we get to that, I want to talk a little bit more about like your musical background. So you started music at three years old. You have a band with your cousin called it's called It's Behind You, brother Stone and the get Down. And your dad was a musician and you live in l A. So tell us about what like a day today it looks like in your music life. Well, yeah, I grew up in Connecticut. Uh, my dad was a touring musician, so I was surrounded by by music all the time and great musicians I do. I have a band with my cousin who um, it's called brother Stone to get Down. Like you said, we do a lot of music for TV shows and film, and we do our own original music as well, and when there was concerts to be played, we would go play lots of music out touring and cover gigs and private events and stuff like that. So TV shows and film anything we know. Um yeah, like some of the guys here, we kind of have. So I live in the house with a lot of the guys in my band, and we kind of have like a revolving door of different TV shows that we write little little background music stuff for that kind of like helps pay the bills, but like twenty four Hours to help him back, Um, Wicked Tuna some some of those kind of shows you'll hear, like the dramatic music in the back. Is there anything you do other than music for for work? No, No, we just just just play music. I'm a lucky guy. So you and Rudy you had something from day one, Um, but it was complicated also since day one. In this episode, you guys are all over the place. Um, first it seems like you're starting out strong. Then Rudy says that you guys weren't ready to go to Vegas. So then you stop on the side of the road to a creepy hotel and you supposedly stayed overnight, did you really? Yeah, yeah, we did, and it was and it was really creepy too. So did you have a ghostly experience, because in the end credits we see that you guys are asking the owner about it. Um, it was. It was really a very creepy place. It definitely was. The funny thing that happens that you don't get to see is there was a train train tracks right next to the hotel. So at three four in the morning, it came glaring with the horn and like woke us up, and it was like it kept coming. It kept it came like three or four times. So that was that was pretty cool. Were there any other guests at the hotel? No? No, I don't think there's ever been a guest there in the past twenty years. It was like an abandoned West World weird town that we're in. You arrived in Vegas and you guys seem to be in pretty good spirits and then you guys get a date card. You get to go and perform a shaggy which was cool for all of us nineties early two thousands kids. And then she tells you that she's following for you and it kind of freaks you out of that tell us about how like your mood, your attitude just kind of changed in that moment. I think that I was so um, I was taking off guards. We we had just gotten off stage with Shaggy. We had a couple of drinks and and it's kind of naive of me to think that we weren't going to have that kind of conversation, but I think I was just so overwhelmed with just everything that had been going on that when she said it kind of it kind of took me back a little bit. And I wish I could have said something better than what I said, because what I said was like the dumbest you could possibly say, and I, you know, anything else would have been would have been better to say, but I, unfortunately was just just kind of defending it and like not really knowing how to say what I actually meant. So I actually didn't think that it was a crazy reaction because I'm thinking, think, you guys probably only only have known each other for about two weeks? Is that true? How long had it been up until that point, very very very short amount of time. It seems like it's a lot longer, but the whole process is over a very very short amount of time. Yeah, so I don't think hearing I can understand if hearing I love you or I'm falling in love with you could be a little freaky at that point. Yeah. And and to be honest with you, in in real life, I'm so guarded and I'm so I don't talk about my feelings and I don't express that these kinds of things, especially with cameras and lights and and and Shaggy is standing, you know what I mean, Like, I don't know's it was very overwhelming for me. And that's that's the only thing that I guess my brain could figure out to say. And yeah, so I don't know. Rudy has a huge personality. But I also think she's super relatable to girls. She's relatable to me. I feel like she has so much emotion, she doesn't hold it back, she has no filter, right, But she's also hilarious and she just seems like you're never gonna be bored in a life with rude. Yeah, there was never a dull moment with with us, and and you didn't get to see a lot of it. But she whenever she has like a drink or food. She spills it everywhere and drops and she's like a She's like a pleasant tornado moving throughout the world. And it's that It's great. What do you think it is about personalities like hers that girls just seem to really um, you know, register with that. Guys get completely freaked out and overwhelmed by It's that undying like loyalty, like that rider died, loyalty, like like she'll she'll murder somebody for you, that's how much she cares. And some people can't can't handle that, and that breaks you up. But I'm down with that. I like that. I think that's super cool and endearing. And I don't know, she's she's a badass chick, and yeah, I know we're both crazy. We're both crazy people, so you know it kind of it kind of works out. You were super forgiving early on in the season, like she lost it on you guys, and now you just joke about it, which I love. Yeah, yeah, believe me, I've been through so much that was that was not anything, And in fact, it was kind of it was kind of sweet and cute, and I get that kind of craziness, so I don't know it worked for me. So you guys go from you know, ups and downs throughout this episode. She says she is falling for you. You get kind of freaked out. You seem to be in a Bible place. She keeps crying, and then you guys get shallow as your performance song. I feel like they gave you that song because, like, uh, talk about having something almost impossible to live up to, you know, because with Lady Gaga and like Cooper, everybody was obsessed with the chemistry. Everybody is obsessed with that performance for like an entire year. Even watching this episode back, I was like, Mom, do you want to watch the Stars Born tonight? So I felt like they purposely gave you the most challenging of performances. Do you think so? I think that they gave us the perfect the perfect song. Really. I think that, yeah, that when we got it, we were we were adamant with each other about like, let's let's not overdo this, Let's not you know, try doing the crazy because it's such an iconic performance and it's you. You could really mess that up. And Yeah, I think they gave us that song because a they wanted to see if we could rise to the occasion and be it just was the perfect song for the for the moment, for and for for both of us. Vocally, it uh, it was the perfect song. Her performance was unreal, Like, you guys are both great, but the fact that she was able to like kind of compete with Gaga and that oh oh part, like how did you do that? She gives Goga a run for her money totally, and being there like in person watching that happen was one of the most powerful and amazing things I've ever done performing and I'll remember it for the rest of my life. It was such an amazing experience. And she's so she's so freaking good. It's it's crazy. It's just crazy to watch it. You guys both um, I mean, you really came together on that song when you both felt like you had a rift in your relationship. How did you do that? Because we because her and I just we have such a great connection musically and and as human beings like we just we do. We have this mag magnetic connection with each other. And when when we're like, yo, let's let's do this, we do it. We and we we come together and good stuff happens. And I've never I've never made music with somebody where it's been so easy and just so like right, and it just comes so naturally to both of us. We just we just have that thing where we could work off each other and it's just a it's just an amazing thing to be a part of. And I'm so grateful for her and for this whole experience, because I never experienced anything like that. You guys are headed to the finale next week, and you have an amazing musical connection. You both live in l A. Could Rudy be the next member of Brother Stone. Rudy would never be a member of any band. She is too cool for that. It's so artist. Yeah, well she's too she's too badass to just be a member of my band. But you definitely will see her and I, uh performing together, making music together and and continuing on uh what we've done on the show, in the in the in the real world, in the real world. Alright, So you guys are on good terms no matter what kind of drama goes down next week. Thank you so much Matt for joining us and for giving us a little insight into this wild episode of hers. Of course, thank you for having me so much. I really appreciate it. All right, We'll see you around l I'm sure all right? Bye bye. What's Cooking Batch Nation? Alright, guys, we're back with our quarantine segment, What's Cooking Batch Nation? And we have DeAndre from Peter Season on the line, and she's going to tell us what she's been cooking, what her specialty is during quarantine. Hey DeAndre, Hey, Hey, Hey, what's up? Before we get into your recipe, I just have a quick question for you. You were eliminated rather early on Peter season one week was it week four? Okay? Um? How has it been watching as a viewer having not been there for all of his mess and then being able to just observe what's happened in the aftermath of the season? Um? I think it's weird getting the side. Like when you're there, obviously you don't see everything happening, but like when you get to watch this an outsider, you get to see the big picture. So I think, like a lot of things start to make sense to me watching it back and be like, oh, okay, so this is what was happening that I was so far removed from so much of the drama and so much of the things that went on. I was like, oh, wow, so this is what was going on. I feel like so dumb. I was there in the middle of everything and I didn't even notice these things happening. Um. So it's definitely weird looking on, but it was kind of funny, like it made a lot of sense. How do you feel about Kelly and Peter being together? Now? I is it true? Because like my thing is like I'm friends with Kelly, but she's never once actually mentioned anything. So I'm like, is it true? Like are these rumors? Like what's going on? Um? But they confirmed it. Yeah, they confirmed it. Okay, So I mean, hey, at least he ended up with someone from our season. That makes me happy, Like at least it wasn't a complete l somebody want, hey, before you started here on the segma of what's cooking batination? Uh, there's an interesting fact about you that I have to bring out. You are one of ten siblings. Actually they got them wrong, eleven eleven siblings. Tell us about that? Um, I mean I have a bunch of sliplings. A lot of them are half like it's a very like blended family. So I got half slipblinks. I have adopted siblings that are my cousins. Um, but it's awesome. I love having a big family. I wouldn't change it for the world. That's so crazy to think I'm an only child and you have eleven siblings. How different our worlds are. I couldn't I get very lonely. I feel like that's why I love being around people, because I always have someone to be with when I'm home always. Oh that's awesome. Alright, have you been cooking for the family? How many are you corn right now? I'm quarantine one, two, three, four, five, six of them? Yes, fun. So are you the go to cook? I'm not the go to cook. I feel like I'm work so cooked for myself because I eat so differently, Like I'm just into different stuff. I'm just super healthy, like weird recipes. And I also I'm like a snacker, so I'm not even a meal person. I'm just constantly eating snacks, which is why I brought a snack recipe today for the podcast. Yeah, you go for it. Oh okay, So, I mean you guys probably don't know this, but I'm obsessed with peanut butter. So I'm like anyway that I can get peanut butter into my diet, even though it's probably not the healthiest thing I do it. So today I'm gonna be talking about how I make chocolate peanut butter bites and banana bites. Um. It's super easy, super simple. All you need is chocolate, chips, coconut oil, a banana, whatever nut butter you want to use, and that's it in a freezer. Um. So what I'll do is I'll take like one to two and it's just depending on how many fights I want to make, and you cut it up real thin and small pieces, kind of like if you were going to make a little sandwiches, so not too thick, and then you take whatever nut butter you want to use. Again, I'm of sausa peanut butter, and you just take the little slices of banana and you put the peanut butter in between them, and then you make little sandwiches out of them. Now, the trick here is you have to freeze the little sandwiches before putting any chocolate on it. So I like to put my little peanut butter bites, however many I make at that time, into the freezer for thirty minutes and while they're freezing, you can melt down your chocolate chips. And the key to melting the chocolate chips is to add, like tea, two tablespoons of cocon oil. And if you don't add the cocon oil, it might burn the chocolate chips or make it harder to actually get that melty consistency that you're looking for. Um. So while the fruit, while the bananas, and the freezer, you do that, and then whenever the little bites are frozen after thirty minutes, it makes it a lot easier to actually coat them and chocolate or drizzle them and chocolate. So you take a cup of chocolate chips, you melt it down with two tablespoons or two teeth spoons of cocon oil in the microwave, and then you take your little peanut butter bite sandwiches that are halfway frozen now and you can either dunk them like with a spoon. I dunk because I need them to be like almost like a Reese's pieces like dunk, or you can drizzle them. You're a little healthier, you can drizally get a little bit of chocolate um, and then you put them back in the freezer for thirty minutes to an hour and that's it. That's so amazing. I'm so into this recipe. And it's also very podcast friendly, so like I followed the entire thing. Okay, good. I was worried about the measurements, but you really don't have measurements. It's all about what you want and how much you want, and that's what I love about it. So in total, like, how long does it would it take from like start to finish? How long are we talking? Um? I would say an hour or forty five minutes only because and it's not no, it's not work involved though. The work time is like ten minutes. No, no, no, no no, I'm not saying bad. That was a that was a good one. Like, oh, overleaf, like I can do that, yeah, yeah, And honestly, if you didn't want to freeze the chocolate on it, you don't have to. You can just drizzle it on it and the little bite should be frozen already and you can just eat it right there if you're like in a rush. But I say freeze it because it's nothing better like biting into like a hard frozen little banana chocolate. I'm just yes better fire, I'm so into it, Thank you so much, for sharing. Of course, I think that there you're up to that you need to uh to share with us outside of your recipes before you go. Oh, I don't know. I'm up to not that much. Because quarantine is happening, it's really put a dint in the dating scene. I feel like. So I feel like that was like very pro dating. Um. I mean, I'm happy for Kelly and Peter because they got to right their quarantined together. I guess so they're winning. Um. Yeah, I'm not really up to much. I'm back at work weirdly enough, what do you started last week? I'm an account executive and insurance company. So what Tammy does mean? Tammy come in eye to eye with each other? Nice? All right, Well, maybe we'll see you guys in paradise whenever that may happen. Could be see you Dangel, Bye guy bye. This has been another episode of the almost famous podcast Ashley. We've talked about all the time, but more than ever during I think Quarantine. I have felt the way of negative comments and criticism, especially revolving around this podcast, which I love so much and I really love hosting with you, and so I've been talking to people about it, trying to get some help and assistance. Did you know scientifically that for every bad comment or bad scenario that happens in your life, science would point to you needing at least four positive ways of reassurance based around that event to get you back into a positive mindset. Isn't that crazy to think about? That's interesting, but it's not surprising to me at all. It's like how I'll go through a whole bunch of Instagram comments and there'll be a hundred positive ones, and then they'll be one negative one and that's the one that I want to respond to. M hmm. It's like it's like paralyzing. I was asked this week on a podcast myself that I was doing separately than this, Hey, if you were a middle school student right now, what is your advice for them on how to handle social media and how to try to be leaders? So say they want to be leaders in whatever field they're doing it, knowing that criticism is criticism is going to come. And I honestly that question kind of shook me because I don't I don't know what I would tell them, and I don't know if I have a place to tell them, because I thought you were going to ask me what my advice would be, and I was like totally blank. Yeah, I guess my advice would be, no their worth, no their value, no their purpose. Know that if they're trying something, then they're doing something. Um Like, just know that we're all trying here and we all kind of I can feel it. I don't know, ash it's just been um. I think it's This is one of the things in Quarantine that I'm learning the most is through struggle and through these kind of heavy times, I'm gonna learn something. Jessica promised me last night before I went to bed. I was walking into my room and she knew this has been heavy on my heart. She goes, hey, I just want you to know this. I don't know when. I don't know where all of these heavy moments they're gonna lead to something beautiful in the end. You just don't know how. And I was like, wow, I hope. So she's so cute, she's so good. She's so good, Ashley, You're so good though, You're the best. I love you. Thanks for another episode coasting with me. You've made this work during a time of quarantine where there isn't a lot of stuff out there to talk about, and you've done it in such a great way. So thank you right back at you. Sorry about my dogs constantly interrupting you. Listeners don't know because our producers and editors do a great job editing it out. My dogs are a pain in the butt. Signing off, I've been Ashley and I've been been. We'll talk to you later. Follow the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts on I Heart Radio or subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
