Russell Proffit’s family have been at Raupuha farm since 1948 introducing the shorthorn and romney stud in the 70's. The Proffit's facial eczema programme has been in progress since 1999.

Russell Proffit talks to Jo Scott about the benefits of the shorthorn breed, welcomes the new funding into FE research in cattle and his thoughts on where genetic technology can take them in the future.
