Breaking down every game, every day in Major League Baseball. This is the Baseball Betting Show. Here is your host, Greg Peterson.

We'll remember Lee Low. Welcome but lovely Las Vegas for the Baseball betting Shoe with myself, Greg Peterson, now part of the Vson Family podcast. We've gotten excellent podcasts for you as We're going to be joined in a few minutes by one of our good friends, Curtis Rogers. He is the pre and postgame man for the Seattle Mariners during the season. Right now he's doing a lot of Seattle Seahawks Seattle Crack. I can coverage in so much more out there in the lovely Pacific Northwest. But we're gonna get his thoughts on what we saw in the first two games of the World Series. We'll try to see if we have anything in terms of that Shoyotani injury as well goes down link in the game. I'm recording this truth be told right around about a thirty pm Pacific time. That's eleven thirty pm Eastern time. Is when we're gonna be doing that interview. So we're still waiting to see a little bit there, and then hopefully I have a little bit more to be able to lend you when I take a look at game number three of the World Series. As in the final segment, i'll give you guys my initial picks and analysis for Game three of the World Series as we do touch them all in. I'm gonna be doing it initially right now, because, like I said, there's still some uncertainty with Joyotani. I'll go back through it once again tomorrow, so I'm not gonna block myself into any sort of a write epic or anything like that. But I'm gonna give you guys my initial thoughts and then we will adjust as we get news that comes along over the next twenty four hours. Before you hear the podcast four tomorrow and if you do have a question comment segment idea, what I have you for this podcast? You have one of two waysvl for those. First one is my Twitter slash x timeline at GNN Underscorty one. Keep in mind larszmly me does that matter, so it's pretty usual. Please just send these into the tameline. The other way that is find an Apple podcast review. If you rate this podcast five starts, it is very much appreciated. From there, you're able fire in whatever you'd like to hear on this podcast via that five star review and did not get in any Twitter slash x questions today. But boy, oh boy, did we have a great game number two in the World Series. Let's take a look back at it, try to find out a little bit more about these teams. And we've got a two to zero series lead for e LA Dodgers.

Games for yesterday is Greg buzzing about Here is the rowdy recap.

Four to two is the final as the Yankees had just won it in the first eight innings of this game. Now the one it was a pretty solid You had a home run off the battle of Juan so to his fourth home run of the postseason that comes off with Yoshinobo Yamamoto lone mistake they made. I believe that he had a hits batsman, as Anthony Rizzo actually got it twice in this game, but Rayal Momoto gives up one at one run and six and the third innings from there, Anti Banda was able to keep it clean. In the back half of that seventh inning, Michael Copek scroll is setting and then Blake try and got himself into a sticky situation, gave up three it's he hit Anthony Rizzo with a pitch as well, gave up a run. But Alex Vesia he needs one pitch to be able to get the final on this one. He was able to do so against Ose Travino and for the La Dodgers, three home runs early against Carlos Rodan is the reason why they get to win. Freddie Freeman, who he was really dealing with some injuries coming into the World Series. His second home run of the World Series. He had not at an extra base sit I believe in his last sixteen at bats before that walk off grand slam in Game number one. Well, now he's got three e's or I should say probably to game number one, because he also had a triple and by the way, he's the second player in World Series history in his first two games of the World Series have multiple home runs and a triple. The only other player that would be one Babe Ruth, so good company there. And then Taskernandez also had a home run off of Rodin and Tommy Edmund did as well as Edmund having himself a really nice post. And for Hodden, this was not what he was helping for. Three bounds allowed in three and the third innings giving up four runs won't say for the Yankees bullpen, I'm pretty solid. You did have Jake Cousins give up a pair of its, but he was able to give a school of three outs, and then tim Ill Klay Holmes frauts out of the bullpen. No, it's no runs allowed, Mark Lader Junior a scoreless setting no hits allowed as well, and all right, I pick it was on the under. Game one's under was a tragedy. Game two. We were able to get the job done there as the New York Yankees. They go just one of six with men in scoring position. The Dodgers oh of three, and right now, the emphasis is on Choy Otanio had that injury when he was sliding into second base, and I believe the back half of the seventh innings, So we shall see there and something else that we are going to be getting a great chat here with Curtis Rodgers. As I mentioned, he does such amazing workover at seven ten Seattle Sports. He is the Seattle Mayor anders pre and post cameos during the regular season, and on top of that does a great job following everything out there in the Pacific Northwest. Rabel Faum on Twitter, slash ex alont Instagram a kid from Kent, All together artists always Buncher my friend.

Thank you Greg, always happy to join you. And boy, what a first two games of this World series. It's been everything we could hope for in a Dodger Yankees world series. Maybe this series split so far that would have been a little bit more, but can't complain with the drama that we have seen in the first two games.

Oh, no doubt about it. It has been absolutely tremendous. And just how do you take a look at the tenor of this world series? Because they always say that the series doesn't start un till the home team loses. Suddenly we did not see that there. But for the Yankees, it feels like they really let at the very minimum one opportunity get away in Game number one, And for them going into Game number three, who knows what it's going to be for them, because we don't know Shoyo Tani is gonna play or not.

Yeah, there's so much uncertainty heading into this Game three on both sides. And you mentioned needing a win to really get this series in motion in terms of back and forth. I mean, I can't imagine how deflating that game won loss was in that Yankee clubhouse up here in seatle A lot of people compared it to Game one of the twenty twenty two Alds when Robbie Ray served up a gopher bald yord on Alvarez. It still hasn't landed a minute may Park and I was incredibly deflating. And that was two rounds prior to the World Series. So I can't imagine that Yankee clubhouse coming away from that game one loss, one out away from taking a one to zero series lead in this best of seven series. Now you find yourself down, oh too, heading home, needing to win at least two of these games to continue with this series to send it back to La if you want to have any shot at winning this thing. So it's going to be a really really important game three for sure here coming up on Monday night. And you mentioned Shoheo Tani with that shoulder could be a huge loss for that Dodger team if he's unable to go. I imagine that that Dodgers' training staff will be working overtime on Sunday for sure, and then heading into Monday's game in order to get show hey ready to go for that one. But yeah, that is going to be a major factor heading into this game three.

Yeah, I'm seeing all the karate Kid memes out there right now ins of trying to get our good friend Shoi Otani all good to go. And I have no idea what the injury is as of right now. We are doing this when nobody knows what the injury is. But apparently people that were picking up on what the interpreter was saying was that the childer most likely popped out. And I know that a lot of people are hoping, oh, it's only a dislocation, But I think that Curtis, you might be able to speak to this, I personally have dislocated my shoulder in the past, if that is indeed the case, which it looked like to me. Like again, I have no doctor, buying starts to imagination, but when I saw the injury, I was thinking, Man, that looks like his shoulder dislocation. That's not good for the rest of the series for Shoyotani especially try and hit for power.

Definitely not and normally a shoulder dislocation of any kind will land you on the injured list. I mean, it is not really an injury that you come back from the next day or two. But who Knowsani. He has shown superhuman strength, he's shown superhuman healing abilities. Just with how little time he has missed. I get that hitting is a much different practice. There's not as much strain on your elbow as there is pitching. Didn't miss any games really this season after having Tommy John surgery in the offseason, But it is going to be very tough for him to generate that power needed, especially in Yankee Stadium, having him take advantage that short porch out in right field. I mean, I'm sure the Dodgers were licking their chops heading into this series about the possibility of him hitting at Yankee Stadium, but right now that is up in the air. I do think though, the Dodgers, with you know, Freddy Freeman having had a tremendous start to this series with home runs in Games one and two, He's going to take advantage of that porch in right field. I think this Dodgers lineup, even without Shoeyotani still put up runs on anybody. It remains to me seen though, if this Yankees pitching staff in Game three in Game four con brides to the occasion. But yeah, I think Shoe Heeotani right now, that is going to be a huge thing in this series. Good thing the Dodgers have gotten off to the two oh series lead, because I don't know how easy these wins are gonna come by without him out of the lineup.

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I think that that is a big question mark. But fortunately for the La Dodgers, I felt like coming into the series they had a bit more depth in the Yankees lineup, just because when you get down to the bottom of the lineup with those guys like Austin Wells and company, it doesn't quite compare to the Dodgers who feels like this happens every single year, where Kik Hernandez is miserable during the regular season and all of a sudden in the postseason he's really really good. Tommy Edmond has been stepping up. So even if Schoey o'tani is out, certainly you like the firepower of the Yankees, but with Aaron Judge not hitting the way that he is as well, I still think that the Dodgers can very much match up with the New York Yankees and perhaps to be able to steal that game number three.

Yeah, they have the depth of that Dodgers lineup. I mean we saw it in Game two, Tasker Hernandez with the decisive blow that go ahead three year on home run to put them ahead, and they would not relinquish that lead the rest of the night. That has been one of the best offseason pickups made by any team. They got ta Oscar for just a one year deal. He's been a godsend to them. You know Will Smith behind the plate, you know Chris Taylor gives them good abs. He plays everywhere all over the field for them. So this Dodgers team, they are deep beyond just the big three atop their lineup. It is not a lineup that takes a break after you get through really the first four or five guys. No, you've got to be on your p's and q's facing them all throughout. And I mean we have seen them put up runs on everybody in this postseason. The Padres know that first hand. The Yankees learned that in Game one with the sixth spot that were put up on them. And they can score in a hurry as well. I mean you look at just kind of how depleted things were at the end of nine innings against the Yankees in Game one, and then all of a sudden couple of hits here or there. They hold the basis for Freddie Freeman Grand Slam at the end in Game one. That's how quick this Dodgers offense can strike. They have been a force in this playoffs, and I think they still have the ability to score on anybody without Shoho Tani. I think for the Yankees, if you're going to match bat for bat right now, you need those three guys in your middle of the order, Judge, Soto, and Stanton to perform here. Stanton showed up in Game one, but Judge and Soto have been pretty quiet here through the first two games. I think one Soto might be a more important bat to get going to Aaron Judge right now, just because Soto's been here before. Soto has World Series experience. He has one of the more memorable home runs of the last like five to ten years that won in Game seven against the Houston Astros, where he hit it about five hundred and fifty feet up into the second decat Minim Park. I think Soto is a guy that I'm looking at right now and saying, hey, man, like you hit that huge home run in the ALC has to send these guys here, but there are still four more games you need to win, and it's time for you to show up against this Dodgers ball club.

Yeah, and credit to Jan Soto he was able to hit a home run in Game number two. He has been showing up. But who else is going to be able to show up for the New York Yankees other than Anthony Rizzon is very very much willing to to take a pinch. He took two of them in Game number two, So shout out to his toughness as a man that is also very tough. Curtis Rodgers, he does great workover at suten Seattle Sports. He's joining me right here on Baseball Betting Show, and want to get your thoughts here. As right now, we're seeing openers for the Yankees versus Dodgers game come out for game number three with it being Walker Bueler against Clark Schmid, and they're making the Yankees right around about a minus one forty to a minus one fifty favorite and a total of aid. And I am thinking that joey Otani, like I said, probably either not gonna play or is going to be badly compromised. But even if that's the case, I think that the La Dodgers would have a bit of value here. You'd be able to put down one hundred dollars to be able to get back one hundred and thirty. On top of that, if you bet the Dodgers right now, that just appeals to me way too much. Even with Walker Bieler's struggles throughout the season.

Yeah, I think you know, you look at this Dodgers team and there's really no scenario I would count them out in And that goes for Shoeotani absence for sure. I think this is a team that even when they would be the dog heading into it. You can still write a story in your mind seeing them get a victory. There's really no game this season where the Dodgers have entered and you've looked at it and said, oh, they have no shot at this Like that has not been the case for them at all. Like it has been crazy. How you can go through an entire one hundred and sixty two game season and also playoff baseball and say that this team has a shot every single night, regardless of who's on the mound, regardless of who's in the lineup. And that's just a testiment to how this Dodgers team is built. That's just a testament to how they go about their business. And as somebody who has watched Mariorg's baseball nuhole life, very rarely has that feeling ever been had here from games one through one sixty two, maybe like the two thousand and one season when they wont one hundred and sixteen games, but outside of that, it has not been something. So I was kind of marvel at the Dodgers and how they're able to withstand quite literally everything. I mean, you look at just what they're rotation has gone through this season, how many different iterations of starters what you've seen. I mean, Heck, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Game two starter who pitched very well, was out for about half the season this year. This is a team that was relying upon Tyler blast Now for a lot of the season. Heck, James Paxton made a bunch of starts for this team. He didn't even make it to the playoffs with them. They dfa'd him midway through the season. So this Dodgers team just has so many different varieties, so many different flavors that they can throw at another team. And just that is a credit to how Andrew Friedman and how his staff has really built this roster out. I get that they are playing with a lot deeper pockets than other teams, but they're just playing by the rolls and they have done a tremendous job building out this roster for literally any scenario.

And I am saying this literally live as we're doing this. Right around about eight forty five pm Pacific eleven forty five pm Eastern, apparently, Dave Roberts said that he suffered a left shoulders subluxation, which typically that happens when you have previously dis looked eight years shoulder. It sort of pops out and then it pops back in. You experience some pain for about a week or two. So if that is the case, I would think that Otani would play, but will be quite a bit compromise. So sort of what we were thinking at the front. So good on us there, and Curtis is always good on you for joining me because you do such great work taking a look at this great game of baseball. Really you cover everything out there in the Pacific north West. Let the good people at home know it's on to opt for you and how people can fallong on social media and other platforms.

Yeah, we've actually got a pretty interesting guest on Monday's show. We're talking to John Boy himself.

We are.

Yeah, we've got him on the show. We'll have an interview with him that's coming up at eleven am Pacific time. We'll have the podcast for that spot coming up Sales Sports dot com shortly after. So pretty fitting guests in this World series. It'll be ahead of Game three between these two ball clubs. So really excited to speak with him, and yeah, great stuff coming up on Sale sports dot com. We've got a Mariner's End of the season roundtable discussion, special guest Furbish, former Mariner's reliever. And then yeah, just all great stuff coming up here, ready for chopping at the bet up here Greg to get the offseason started, to get the wheeling and dealings started. But it's still gonna be a great World Series. And always happy to speak with you and always happy to join you, especially in the midst of this great fall classic.

Absolutely and Curtis, he does such amazing work takeing a look at this wonderful game of baseball. Every single time he joins me len such good insights and did so once again today. So big thanks to Curtis for joining me on The Baseball Betting Show now part of the VS Family podcasts and coming next I'll get you guys by initials book for Game number three of the World Series.

As we touch them all, breaking down every game every day in Major League Baseball. This is the Baseball Betting Show. Here is your host, Greg Peterson.

Cover rank You're love you Las Vegas for the Baseball Betting Shoe with myself Greg Peterson, now part of the Eson family of podcasts. Always great to be joined by Curtis Rogers who does such an amazing job over at some ten Seattle Sports take a look at this great game of baseball that we all know in love. Every single time he joins me, he lends such good insights. Did so once again today, So big thanks to Curtis for joining me in the last segment. Nowadays that time the podcast, I give you picks and analysis for Game three of the World Series as we touch them all.

If a game is listed on the betting board, Greg has a side and a total on it, so it is time to touch them all, dude.

Note that, as per usual, any changes are made to these plays, we'll be listed up on my Twitter slash xved at you to underscore eighty one. Now, we'll be going back through this game on Monday as we know a little bit more of what we're getting out of Showotani. I've yet to block in a write up pick just yet, just because I do want to see the extent of the injury and everything like that, So we'll be flushing that out a little bit more tomorrow. But I do want to give you guys my initial thoughts here be gets quite frankly, we don't have a ton else we'll have to be able to discuss we are in game number three of the World Series or no other games are really going on? So how about if we do dive in on my initial look at game number three? This is nine oh five, nine oh six on the with the Dodgers now on the road against the Yankees for Monday, with a Walker Bueler going for the Dodgers and Lark Schmidt goes for the Yankees. Most places have an eight with regards to suddle, with the over and under both of minus one ten. The opener was eight and a half, and I'm still seeing one or two straight eight and a halfs with the under at a minus one fifteen to a mix one twenty overs between minus one oh five to even money, And right now the Yankees find themselves between minus one forty two two a minus one forty eight, between plus one twenty two to a plus one thirty two. Is that number on the Dodgers, And I'm seeing his eyes a plus one thirty six out there as well in LA I'd be willing to think that plus one thirty two or higher. So if I had better right now, I go with the Dodgers on the money line along with the over as well, because right now, what we're hearing out of Dave Roberts of the La Dodgers is that for Choyotani experienced a shoulder sublocks. That's where you have the shoulder pop out a little bit, but it doesn't fully come out. I'm someone that is actually dislocated his right shoulder before. Interesting story. I was over at Hortonville High School, home with the Polar Bears. I was trying to pump up the girl volleyball team by doing the famous dance the worm on hardwood floors to try to fire them up by dislocating my shoulder doing so. I am not a world class athlete. I'm like Shoiotani. I am not a guy that stayed at a motel six. But I can tell you when you have a shoulder sub blox, because they happen after you dislocate a shoulder. It leaves you in a bit of pain for about a week or so even two weeks sometimes as well. So the range of motion, the strength is not gonna bee hundred percent for Shootani, but I would think that he would be able to fight through this. That's how I'm handicapping this as of right now. Again, I am no doctor, So we'll find out most likely a little bit more in the coming twenty four hours after this podcasters release, and I will just accordingly positively or negatively there. But that's what I'm expecting in terms of this one. And for the La Dodgors, even if they don't have Shootani out there all together, I still think that this lineup is able to match up with the New York Yankees, because right now you've got Aaron Judge who's playing as if he's got a dislocated shoulder. He has struck out, i believe now six Iams here in the World Series in these first two games. As a matter of fact, he had three strikeouts in Game number two. The rest of the team had a combined four less in tremendous there and the bottom of the lineup for the Yankees not really producing a lot. Alex Verdugo Austin Wells both in below the Midow's line two hundred as Waldo Cabrera stop being getting a lot of starts, but he's been all flowing under the radar Jets shislm. He did have a hit in Game number two, but he's been hitting here in the postseason for about a two forty on base. I think that he's still stuck on one. Omron Jhonkarls and has been having himself a really nice postseason. He's been able to belt out the deep ball. We saw one so to go deep in Game number two as well. For Soda, he's up to four bombs here in the postseason as well. But for the LA Dodgers, even with if you're without o'tawny, looks like Freddy Freeman is starting to get back to full out after he was the on with an injury. A triple in two home runs in the first two games of the World Series. Tommy Edmund has really been able to step up for the Seam. He's overall for the postseason hitting a three sixty five. He was able to go deep in Game number two. Mookie Betts, he's got four bombs here in the postseason, supplying darn near four and on base. And I keep talking about with this key Aron Andez is just always miserable during the regular season and somehow, some way during the postseason he just always finds it. And Max Munsey has just found a way on base. He's only hitting a two o five here in the postseason, but he's been able to give you north of a four to twenty on base. Now, the trupidation that you've got with the ELI Dodgers is Walker Bualer, who's looked better here in the postseason. I do have to give a little bit of credit where it is due. But for Walker Buealers, still at that miserable start against the San Diego Padres where he gave up six runs, I'll be at the defense to not help him out. And then he was able to hold down the Mets for four scoralis, but he had to work his way out of some sticky spots in that one as well. I know that he had the bases loaded at least once a time two times in that one as well. So I do have my issues there, and I do think that the Yankees are going to be able to scrape across a few runs on him. And then for Clerk Schmidt, he's actually been a whole lot better on the road than he has been at home. If you look at his regular season numbers, a four to fifty home ra across eight starts comparedo buck thirty ninety ARRA. On the road, he's only made two postseasons starts thus far both came on the road. He gave up two runs of four and two thirds innings in both of them. And for Clark Schmid, credit where it is too in terms of his strikeout numbers. He's been able to get turn your ten strikeouts for nine and ennings. He's not really giving up the deep ball too much over all this season, giving up plus an home run per nine ennings between the regular season and the postseason, but that rises up as he's at home at home giving up closer at one point three home runs per Nina and ennings. He should be helped out by the fact that in late October the ball flies out of Yankee Stadium a little bit less than say, oh, June, July, what have you. But Clark Schmid was injured for a lot of those summer months as well, So that's something that you do need to keep in mind in this one. And for the LA Dodgers, they are going to be fully stucked with their bullpen as well, which I think that gives them a little bit of advantage. And Yankees have the better bullpenny ray here in the postseason, at very least they did before Netser Cortos gave up that Grand Slam, but having Brustarter greder All back him throwing about ninety nine miles per hour. That is big. For the LA Dodgers, You've had Alex Vessia come up big in some spots. Blake try and look at a little bit shaky in Game number two, A put the team in the fritz a little bit. But then that said he Danny Olson, Michael Kopek, these guys have been great in the bullpen. A long to Anthony Vandam. For the New York Yankees, you're going to have on full rest the dual of time. He Kinley along with Luke Weaver, they're a really nice one to two punch while you get outside. That is a little bit of roll the dice. I do like Jay Cousins, but he's had his issues throughout the postseason thus far. If you have to go to Mark Lader Junior to Masa, you're in all sorts of trouble. And I's hope that they don't go back to an answer. Court has that imitation of him trying to do his best Mariano Rivera impression. Well, that did not go well. He should not be going as Marianna Rivera for Halloween, because that was an epic fail right there. So this is a circumstance with what we're seeing right now that Plust one thirty two number would be willing to dive in on the Dodgers on the money line. It did. Somebody told it at eight point six. Again, I think the Beeler gives up runs Clerk Schmid has at his struggles at home. So right now looking at the over, I'm looking at the Dodgers on the money line, and we'll see if anything changes with this handicap as we go through the next twenty four hours, but Initiallyan's there and I will be back with you guys once again tomorrow on this podcast, as I'm with you guys every single day on this podcast.
