Kev and Tony Baker are back on the Bald Brothers podcast for a full deep dive into the legendary career of Janet Jackson. From her breakout on Good Times and Diff'rent Strokes to her iconic run of albums with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the brothers break down every era of Janet's discography.
They cover the first Janet Jackson songs they remember hearing, their all-time favorite tracks, her best albums, favorite music videos, most underrated and overrated songs, dream collaborations, and their top 10 Janet Jackson songs. Along the way they debate Janet's four-album run of Control, Rhythm Nation, janet., and Velvet Rope against Michael Jackson's catalog, discuss the genius of Quincy Jones as a producer, roast Phil Collins and his hair, go off on a tangent about World War II history, and share their list of songs they know every word to but absolutely hate.
Plus: The Super Bowl halftime show controversy, Janet in Poetic Justice, the Beatles making four separate movies, and whether Janet Jackson would be even more celebrated if she was not Michael Jackson's sister.
Next week: a deep dive on legendary producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
