Hailing from Villierstown, County Waterford, Treacy had a stellar career as an athlete winning back to back World Cross Country Championship titles, an epic performance to win silver in the Marathon at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and later in his career, becoming Chief Executive of Sport Ireland.
