Fiber is having a moment online, with “fiber maxing” encouraging people to pack as much fiber as possible into their diets. And while fiber is certainly important, could chasing a nutrition target actually mean ignoring what your own body is telling you? For some people, suddenly loading up on fiber can mean bloating, gas and indigestion — and that raises a bigger question about how much we should be following nutrition rules and how much we should be listening to our own bodies.
