The Winter Olympics are officially underway in Italy. We often talk about physical preparation at the Olympic level, but what we don’t always see is the mental side of performance: managing pressure, staying focused, handling expectations, and performing when the whole world is watching. Sommer Christie, Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant who has worked with Olympic and Paralympic athletes, including Team Canada, spoke to Andrew Carter.
