The U.K. is moving toward what it’s calling a “smoke-free generation.” Lawmakers there have approved landmark legislation that would permanently ban cigarette sales to anyone born after January 1st, 2009, meaning today’s teenagers would never legally be able to buy tobacco products in their lifetime. The law will also ban vaping, in places where smoking is banned, and allows the government to regulate the flavours and packaging of vaping products.
