Quebec has passed Bill 29, better know as the “right-to-repair” law. It requires retailers and manufacturers to tell consumers whether replacement parts, repair services, and repair information are available for the products they sell. The goal is to give consumers more transparency, reduce waste, and encourage longer-lasting products. Spokesperson for the Office of Consumer Protection in Quebec, Charles Tanguay, spoke to Andrew Carter.
