Canada is welcoming news of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas – a deal that includes the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and a pledge to open the door to humanitarian aid in Gaza. Rex J. Brynen is a Professor of Political Science at McGill University in Montreal, specializing in Middle East politics, peacebuilding, and post-conflict reconstruction. He has served as a consultant and advisor to the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Government of Canada. He spoke to Andrew Carter.
