A recent change to Canada’s citizenship rules is having an unexpected ripple effect, not at immigration offices, but inside provincial archives. In New Brunswick, staff are dealing with a growing backlog as hundreds of people each month request historical records to prove their family ties to Canada. Joanna Aiton Kerr, Provincial Archivist for New Brunswick, spoke to Andrew Carter.
