Pole vaulter Imogen Ayris has admitted the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest was hardly a target to begin the year.  

The Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and compatriot Eliza McCartney qualified for the event in its maiden running as two of the top eight ranked athletes. 

Ayris explained to Adam Cooper how she went from being happy sitting outside the world's top 15, before flying up into contention. 

The pair are scheduled to compete early tomorrow morning.
