Defending champion Iga Swiatek has powered into the last 16 of the French Tennis Open with a straight sets win over Romania's Jaqueline Cristian. 

World number one Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini, Qin-Wen Zheng, and Elena Rybakina are also through. 

Tennis Correspondent Craig Gabriel joined D'Arcy Waldegrave to discuss the results of the third round from Roland Garros.

Craig Gabriel: Tennis Correspondent on the third round of the French Tennis Open

It's been an exciting match of test cricket so far at the Bay Oval between the Black Caps and the West Indies.

After going into bat first the Black Caps put a mammoth score on the table of 575/8 before declaring spare headed by a 323 opening run partnership between Devon Conway and Tom Latham that nearly lasted the entire first day. 

Conway top scored with 227, followed by Latham with 137 and finally Rachin Ravindra put on an unbeaten 72 to keep the score board pressure rolling. 

After being put into bat to end the second day the West Indies fought back with a good batting performance ending on 110/0 heading into day three later today. 

Mark Richardson is a former Black Cap and broadcaster with TVNZ commentating the game and he joined D'Arcy to look ahead to the days play.

The North v South T20 series is currently underway in Nelson. The competition is a best of three series contested between the top domestic talent in women's cricket across the North Island and South Island regions.

The South Island women won the first game on Thursday by 5 wickets, but the North Island side won the second by two runs in a rain affected match.

It sets up an exciting conclusion that is set to get underway at 11am today.

Polly Inglis is a White Fern and representative of the South Island, she joined D'Arcy to chat about the series.
