Caroline Knight: Jane & Me: My Austen Heritage
Caroline Knight, Jane Austen’s fifth great-niece and the last Austen descendant raised at Chawton House, the very estate where Jane lived and wrote, shares her extraordinary family story in the memoir "Jane & Me: My Austen Heritage."
After leaving the ancestral manor at 18, she built a distinguished career in Australia as a CEO, board director, and 2012 Telstra Businesswoman of the Year finalist. In 2013, inspired by the "Pride & Prejudice" bicentennial, she founded the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation, a global volunteer charity that promotes literacy in Jane’s name. "Jane & Me" offers an intimate, never-before-told portrait of life inside the Austen family and the lasting legacy of one of literature’s greatest voices.
