The North Dakota FFA state convention has been underway this week on the campus of North Dakota State University. The first full week of June, more than 1,300 FFA members and advisors from across the state gather to conduct official business and compete in the state Career Development Events. Rusty Halvorson visited with student Caleb Hauck, FFA State Secretary, Aaron Anderson, FFA State Advisor, and Craig Kleven, FFA Executive Secretary, about the events.

Winning CDE teams at the state convention are awarded travel stipends to National FFA Convention from the ND FFA Foundation. Students compete in over 30 different award, degree, and CDE events.  #NDFFA

Sarah Heinrich is both a rancher and a broadcaster for The Ag News Leader, KFGO & the Growing Harvest Ag Network. She’s the former KX-TV, Bismarck, Ag Director and the niece of another legendary North Dakota Ag Director, Al Gustin. She leads the KFGO 790-AM team as Farm & Ranch Director. Also part of the team is Farm and Ranch Reporter Sam Halstengard.
