The AFL Wrap with Jeff and Bevo

In one of our biggest episodes of the year so far we were joined by Port Adelaide Football legend and board member George Fiacchi and Channel 7's Andrew Hayes to wrap up Port's shattering 23 point loss to the Giants last Saturday night which saw them go out in straight sets. We also discussed whether extending Ken Hinkley's contract for two years back in August was the right thing to do, what Port and the Crows need to do better to improve in 2024 and we paid tribute to the late Ron Barassi and Cowboy Neale who passed away on the weekend.

The AFL finals are finally here and Bevo and Jeff previewed the four finals, discussed the All-Australian squad for 2023 and other award winners in the past week, the AFLW Showdown, some trade news plus much more.

Mark stepped into the host chair this week with Jeff and they were joined by show regular Tom Rehn to discuss the upcoming finals series and whether it's been the one that got away this year for the Crows. Jeff gave his thoughts on whether the Crows have improved on last year and what they can do better and Jeff expresses some of his concerns about Port in the finals.

Bevo and Jeff were joined by veteran SANFL goal umpire Steve Murphy to discuss the pressures that come with being an umpire and his thoughts on the goal review system after last Saturday night's howler that ended the Crows season when they lost to Sydney by one point. We also discussed what could be done better to prevent similar things happening in the future, we also spoke about the appointment of Damien Hardwick to the Suns, Port's win over Fremantle, what's happened to the Dogs and their shock loss to the Eagles plus we wrapped all of the latest news in the AFL.

The AFL finals are just around the corner and things are really starting to heat up. Bevo and Jeff had the great pleasure again of being joined by footy expert and Channel 9 Sports Presenter and 5AA announcer and commentator Tom Rehn to wrap up Port and the Crows games on the weekend. We also discussed the Matildas incredible victory over France, a couple of retirements that were announced today, Ken Hinkley's future and Jeff is furious about hearing the news one of his favourite Crows may not be given a contract in 2024.

Bevo and Jeff had the great pleasure of being joined by Channel 7's expert commentator David Basheer for a special chat about tonight's game between the Matildas and Denmark. We were also joined by 2004 Port Adelaide Premiership star Dean 'Broges' Brogan who had a few concerns about the Power but Broges told us that there was one team in particular that he was impressed with that might surprise a few. We also discussed all of the games from round 21 and previewed a huge round 22 of action.

Bevo was back in the host chair tonight with Jeff and it was a huge show as we were joined by Dr David Stephens and show regular Tom 'Rehny' Rehn. We discussed the issue around concussion and head knocks with Dr Stephens and we wrapped up the Showdown with Rehny and the very popular Div 12 Ressies game that Rehny played in last Friday night. We also discussed which current Giants player could be their greatest ever, Jeff raised whether there's reason to be concerned at Alberton after three losses in a row and we wrap up a big round 20 of matches. With Bevo unavailable tonight, Jeff was joined by SA media personality Mark Aiston who jumped into the host chair and it was another big show. It was a disappointing weekend for SA footy fans with Port and the Crows both losing by less than a kick, Jeff gave his thoughts on whether Port can win the flag after going so close against Collingwood on the weekend and Jeff and Mark explained why they were full of praise for Collingwood coach Craig 'The Fly' McRae. Port Adelaide premiership star George Fiacchi also joined the boys for a chat about what some called the game of the year between Port and Collingwood last Saturday night and they talked about Port's season so far.

In one of our biggest shows yet we were joined by two wonderful guests, Johnny Platten and Adam Hartlett. We spoke with Johnny about the Hawks rebuild and whether he thought they were on track, the two teams that he thinks will play in this year's AFL Grand Final and thoughts on whether the Hawks have done the right thing by moving on senior players like Tom Mitchell and Jack Gunston. We spoke with Adam about the Blues surprise 50 point win over Port and how they have turned things around to win four games in a row, how he's joining being at the helm at Westies and whether we could see him coaching at AFL level one day.

Last night the boys were joined again by Channel 9 Sports Presenter and footy expert Tom Rehn to talk all things Crows and Port, we discussed whether Tom Jonas could come back in for the injured Trent McKenzie, why can't the Crows win on the road and we looked at Port and the Crows run home to see where we think they might finish at the end of 2023. We also discussed whether the Blues are back after three wins in a row and is Suns coach Stuart Dew in trouble again after the Suns conceded 9 goals against Port in the third quarter in their game last Saturday night after having a 6 point lead at half time.

Tonight on the show Bevo and Jeff discussed all the big topics in the world of AFL including whether Stuart Dew is under big pressure with another below par performance by the Suns and could we see Damien Hardwick coaching the Suns in 2024. We also wrapped the Crows impressive 66 point win over the Roos and Port's remarkable after the siren win against the Bombers and which forgotten ruckman do we think should come into consideration to replace Scott Lycett in the next few weeks. We also discussed the rest of the round 16 games and previewed a big round 17 of AFL action.

On tonight's show we had the great pleasure of being joined by Port Adelaide Football Club young gun Ollie Lord where we asked his thoughts on what difference Josh Carr has made to the team this year, why Ken Hinkley coaching on the boundary line has helped so much and whether Ollie thinks Ken will be there in 2023. We also discussed the Crows heartbreaking loss to the Magpies, where West Coast are at after their 171 point record loss to the Swans and we wrapped up the rest of the games from round 15.

Bevo and Jeff wrapped up Port's great 38 point win against the Cats to make it 11 wins in a row, we were joined by the Gold Coast Suns Assistant Coach, Tate Kaesler to discuss the Suns season so far and we discussed whether the Tigers are a chance to play finals after three wins in a row. We also reviewed all of the games from round 14 and previewed a big round 15 of action.

Bevo and Jeff were joined by Adelaide Crows Assistant Coach Marco Bello for a chat, we also wrapped up Port's win over the Tigers and discussed whether Zac Butters, Connor Rozee and Jason Horne-Francis were the best midfield combination in the AFL at the moment, discussed Damien Hardwick stepping down and the Carlton Blues crisis on and off the field.
