Welcome back to the Phantom's Lair podcast. This is the Phantom speaking two rounds into the Supercoach mid season byers, and they're not treating me well. The Chief is here with me in the Lair, not treating him too well either, treating another one of our friends pretty well, but he's not here.
He's a rare no show. Despite another awesome week in the bye. He is, as we know, the buy around specialist. But yeah, not here to brag this time. Five names of course, I mean Thomas Wilson, Kingsley, Thomas Wilson apologies, Yeah, not here to brag about his top of the pod performance, thankfully for us.
Thankfully got the blonde tips in going to Europe soon, not even this is not even in Europe yet. Now listeners will know that he is off to Europe for summer. John, We don't know what We want to know what he wants going to get up to over there, but this isn't it?
No you will? Yeah, I know he did do well, but I.
Haven't heard from you.
No, I haven't. Should we should we check in with think so with the great Man.
We don't know what he's doing well, we do know that he's down in the homeland of Tazzy best have borne down there so could be doing absolutely anything, could.
Be the answers we're not. We're not hopeful that he will, but we might as well give the great man, of course, if he's ready to brag about his score. Hello, Hello, is that same? And Thomas Wilson. Yeah, five names on the lair.
This is the Phantom.
You cann't get anybody else.
We wanted to check in with you.
Top of the pod. The listeners, we've moved over. We're cozy up together, Dossie and I the chief listening.
We heard some music in the background. What are you doing?
Dan?
And we know you're down in the homeland.
What's the TV?
Have we got any clothes on? Yeah? Aw's are going down there?
Good? Good, good. You know the weekend was fun. You know, saw some things things I can't really repeat on a podcast.
Fair enough.
Take your word for the top of the pod though. Supercoacht teen's flying, supergach teens flying.
Yeah, I was on this, but you know, I mean yeah, as I said, for a specialists, you are.
How'd you go seem? Do you have your score on you?
There?
We are going through. We're just off the top of the show, so we'd love you to join in just for a few minutes.
Yeah, I can't believe you couldn't find anyone else.
And we're going to check in with you anyway if you've got company or something.
But no, I'm literally bombs two thousand and fifty one.
Oh, very good, And importantly you've gone past us the overall YEP.
Five thousand, three hundred and eighty seven. So just see Earl chief Chiefs in the rearview here.
Very good, we love it. Yeah, well I'm middle of the pod, sim thankfully, nineteen ninety eight for me. And yeah, as you mentioned, my season rank, I still went up, but just a little bit behind you, five eight hundred and sixty seven. Sim. You'd be happy to know rising in the ranks though still. But the person that we really got you on the phone call for is because we want you to enjoy the fun of fans. He is the King of Bop. This week, on his way down Fans explained what happened on the weekend on the King of Pop for the.
By rounds overall not treating me well. Seven hundred spots lost last week and the three hundred spots on the weekend nineteen sixty one. Again, this is a big name Premium is not scoring high enough and actually exposed miss music exposed some things we've spoken about on the show. So we'll talk about that in a little while. But fifteen sixteen still miles ahead of both of you guys in the overall rank, and that far ahead didn't even need to check the total score. And even though I struggled, so well done, Bob.
Yeah, man, how's how's the bomb trade going for you so far?
You know, I've still got Bond pretty.
He was a bit quiet on the weekend, but he will come.
Good up got him in? How are you going to get him in?
No, I'm down a different ways. So I'm going to try and I think I'm gonna go butteries. I'm yeah, you're not going to like this, phantom. What my plan is?
I I.
Reckon I'm going to use three trays to bring in, but it's a rookie, maybe less than one, and I think I'm going to go your boy Matt Roberts out for tolding the Oh, well.
Gee, did have you been? Did you tell Dossie? Because he's he's doing the same thing. He might be copying you again.
No, I think I think there is a pattern emerging of copying and the d ain't coming from me.
I like a five days before, we let you go do whatever you're going to do down there in Chazin. Now is it true that after two weeks of telling everyone to jump on Luke Pedler you crumbled last minute, followed the chief in through the door and traded him in.
Yeah, yeah, there's not not. I wasn't happy myself, to be honest. It was where was what was I doing? That's this is a good question.
Who knows?
Who knows? Now?
I was walking through and I went, there's a couple of outs, and I've had a couple of other outs, and I was going to rain as well in Adelaide, and I jumped in on Luke Peddler and he served up for thirty seven.
So yeah, I deserve that, all right?
Well, any boat parties coming up?
The boat parties this weekend, Yeah, so I'll be I'll be in I should be in the office on Monday, in the room, but I'll be there physically our own spiritually, I won't be there as always say. The boat party if it does go down, I hope the DJ.
Yes, very good, well events that we hope to see you next Monday. We won't bank on it, but enjoy the week, and thanks for popping in that their listeners do like to hear from you are the mid season hero. But goodbye.
That's enough.
It's no party now, might not be he'll be here physically on Monday. So if you don't watch on codesports YouTube, then described get ready for next week because we do know off the record what five names has a good time down there in his homeland, so next month they could be good viewing.
All right, let's wrap up this round with our heroes and villains, fans and my hero this week goes not to a player on the field, It goes to now. If you're a there listener last year, you'll know this heated rivalry in the office. Trudy truly in the office. I just got to tip my cap. She's my hero for the week. Has not been checking in with her team as much of the last couple of weeks, but deserves are out of applause. Look, this isn't This is a serious rivalry match for old Dossie and it was the only matchup I was really checking in with this week and Trudy got over the line. She got it done yet again, said she checked intently across the entire weekend, even burnt an extra trade fans to get the job done this week. Truly knock me off again. She is my bane. She just defeats me every time. So I've got to find a way to hopefully beat her in the finals. But apparently her trade she brought in was Zach Johnson, the rookie ye eighty four got her the dubs over me. So good on your truthes. We'd love to see it. We do like to be the chief. Everyone's not the chief. I've just resigned to the fact I can't beat her. Yep, he's unbeatable. Good friend of the show fans.
Hero have mat of heroes this week, too many disappointing players. But I will give it to Harry Cheesel. Yeah, bounce back Nick Martin a combined because both of them were down and out at halftime in the thirties. Parry Cheesel Nick Martin in the twenties couldn't get near it. Both scored one hundred plus or thereabouts in the second half. So heroic, get me back because that would have sun me. Those two didn't lift and definitely you know, lifted for their team.
Deserve the points. Am I villain for the week, fans, I'm going Locky Whitfield. I mean, I'd love to do one of the rookies this week. I wanted I had four rookies. You're throwing too many kids in the way. I just needed one rookie to pop this week. I mean, Clark did the job. Maybe I need two rookies to pop. Unfortunately I had guys like Lindsey, Carrol and Peddler all just I just need one to pop. But I'm not gonna They're not my villaine. Are rookies. They're learning. It's Locky Whitfield eighty four. Since I brought him in, he's had this role change. Ash's just mopping up back there and Whitfield's getting none of it, moved forward, moved on ball for It's just not the role I want, fans, And it's not what I paid up for. I thought he was the level of you know, your uber premium that you pay up for. You lock him in and you're happy with and he's just not been performing up to my standard that I want. You know, I love watching him play, but not in this role, peered behind the ball more towards the end of the game. Again, but what doing again didn't win on the weekend. Surely we've seen enough to show that it is working.
We know we've seen it with Harry Schezel, how effective he is as a mid forward, particularly as a midfielder, as he was as a junior coming through Harry Cheesel would school. It's his own age coming through the system. Playing the role he played on the weekend, you can see that like Whitfield obviously similar to wasn't drafted as a half back, but you'd think, given what else.
The Giants have only one score under one hundred up until round ten, and he's had two in the last three weeks.
It was back then it was twenty two or twenty four hundreds, two hundreds and twenty four.
Yeah this week extending to last year, Yeah exactly. So it's just a shame. And now everyone can pick him up at a bargain perhaps post by now though that he's getting close to that buy. But man's your villain.
Well, I owe you this one now. I saw it on Friday night after the Crows game out the Sherberts Yep worst pick. Yeah, finally I'm finally putt him in the villain category. Dane Dorco. Yeah, it's tough, struggled difficult conditions, fought back, good second half again, not quite in the Sheese with Nick Martin category. Looking you're not far behind him as well, And actually I'm going to change because lucky Neil should be the villain. If you're two time browlow millst you kick that goal, I'm thirty meters out with the worst won the game, tied the gate at that point. Living there together, Go and Neil need a lift. Bear enough fans, let's storry my week.
Yeah, it's it was a tough week for us, but I think overall not too bad, a bit better than for me anyway, and I'm looking forward to flying forward and we're going to talk about around fourteen strategy now, fans, So again reminder, if you've been living under a rock, we've got buyers through to round sixteen, best eighteen all the way through. You get your three trades every week, although fans, I'm starting to run low on those trades. What am I up to? I think I've got eleven left? Yeah, eleven trades left and then yeah, jeez, some people still have a boost, so you can use that to get four trades, which is crazy to think. Again, we talk generally on this show about overall ranking, how to attack these buyers to get the best overall rank you can. So if you are fighting for those that league glory, you can just be a bit more conservative with your trades. As we mentioned, Trudy folksing more on leagues this year, but decided to burn that extra trade to win her league match up that rivalry match. Yep. And yeah, so we got three more rounds to go fans, not too much more pain, and I know there is a there's a big buy around coming up. Round sixteen is pretty heavy this week. For me, I'm finding it this week it's not too bad with We've got Collingwood, Richmond, Sydney and Gold Coast on the buy this week, so there could be some teams heavy this week. Me personally, I'm going okay. What about yourself.
Going okay again? I was going okay last two weeks.
Yeah.
Spoke about before the buyer that the premium out is the one should be focusing on, not overall, and it proved again on the weekend. I had twenty one players playing and I struggled. There were those four players were low so had a lot of premiums they didn't deliver. So you can do a lot of planning, but you need to make sure of that premium account is what you're focusing on. It also brings into another question as well as how we finish our team, the ceiling scorers that you and I didn't have. Yeah, on the weekend, my premiums let me down. Neil Merritt, Dekos, Lorco Whitfield or ninety five or under yep, that was the difference in the end. So again we talk about getting all the rookies off your field, getting the full premium quickly. But what do you want? We've got flexes here. Do you want twenty three premiums and your final two you know Callum Mills, Coley mccurch or Kayla Daniel or do you want twenty two or twenty one of the role gold stars and then you finish it off with a few you know, you get lucky with a couple of rookies, or you keep a leeve by Ashcroft or it came a call of interesting one.
Yeah, I think it does depend on probably how many of those rolled gold you've got at the moment, right because if you if you don't have enough of those now you've you've got to pivot towards just trying to get as many of those bargain guys as you can and fill out your team. But if you do, if you are closing in on you know, uput of those the big dogs are in your squad, then maybe it's worth just attacking those those big guys. I'm probably having to lean towards the value and trying to just get a few ceiling scores from those players based on the trades I've got left and the players that I have. But yeah, it's an interesting couple of weeks remaining in the buy rounds, and to see where everyone's at at the end of the buy rounds is going to be very interesting.
It looks there, looks like could be the perfect trade right bang in the middle of that conversation this week, high ceiling top five score in the game at a value price. Yeah, a man, get to him. We'll get to him, now, get to him right now. The week of Zach it's all about trading in Zach's yeah, z Aka as well. Yeah, non traditional spelling of it, which we like Zach but as five sixty three.
Yeah, he's the talking point of the week. I mean the other week it was BoNT and maybe that wasn't the right call, but BoNT was what one hundred k more expensive than what we would be paying for Butters. We said jump on board bond. Last week we said jump on board bond pre his buy even. But now I'm in bonds at an amazing price to himself. But Butters has scored like almost on par with the bonds of the world at that very top level, as you say, and he is at a very achievable price for most coaches, I would suggest this week, and I think he's going to be easily the most traded in player. But we think must have.
Is he if you can do it? Is this must have territory foot like must know the goat. So he doesn't like the word must have.
We were expecting a tag last week to bring his price down, and he did get to Did you get tagged two?
One hundred and forty three high coness possesion numbers? I think as well, huge one hundred and forty three must not a must have, but I think it's the Maybe it's the one if you've got money, you got rookies there that one down, one up, you can get it done. Yeah, off the bye ticks so many boxers. I don't think the only negative potentially I said last week it didn't matter what I was going to do it this week, no matter what happened. So I, you know, not put off by the one forty three price. Didn't it come down too much? I was going to leave enough cash to get him in regardless. Anything under six hundred caye great by him, beause that Butter's demers this week, adelaid, though, well, the only thing is you know, as was written on Monday, Ed Langdon turned into prime Tony libertore as how Peyton messaged me last night breaking in with our Peyton your friends of the show again send a good question as well. Actually on next about the horny one, so June said, you know, a really good outside player, very outside suddenly turned into prime turn libertoo and the gates Nick Dakos could do the same as that Butter's this week.
Yeah, now Tony bit before my time. It's right in your primeiere their fans, but yeah, lockdown tags you know it is, yeah lockdown tag he was. He was hanging off. He was hanging off Tacos all week, so you think that could be in line for Butters this week, so it has to be think you do it? Three games Lada would have come. Yep, all right. So let's look ahead though, fans. We'll go through all these targets, just looking at the buyers to come. As we said, there's only two after this week, so we mentioned the players on the buy this week, Collingwood, Richmond, Sidney, Gold Coast. Then we've got Adelaide, Hawthorne, Melbourne, West Coast, Brisbane, Essen and Geelong and Giants in round sixteen. I just wanted to touch on this before we get into all our targets because for me, it's pretty relevant. Would you consider bringing in any players, regardless of price, regardless of everything, that still have the buy to come? Now that we're smack bang in the middle of the buyers, is there any justification to bring in a player that has still got their buy to come at this point if you're fighting for over a ranking, I'm talking so leagues, it's okay. As we mentioned ranking.
Though I traded in Nick Martin last week, I knew I was going to get three games from him.
Two.
Is it enough, Max Holmes? Is it enough two games and then a buye? I don't think so. I think now you've got enough to choose from coming off the buyer, but the factor it in and wait.
Now three yeah, now, I think still okay for rookies, especially the ones on the bubble, will get to some of those shortly. Still okay for rookies, we're saying obviously because we have to. I think so, just yeah, almost don't think of the buyers they're playing that week. No, you don't think about it that week for premiums and for even mid prices that could still make some cash. Who are we thinking, Like a Tom Stewart for instance, called well if if you still got him in mind that, like these guys have got their buy so they've still got their buy in round sixteen, so you still get two games this week and next week, and then they're on their buyer after that. So it's a I think it's a pressing question. There are people trading in and also you mentioned him, homes like still at a pretty good price, had a massive weekend. I don't think either of us own him. That's probably why we also suffered on the weekend. Baz out drops forty disposals. Yeah, are these guys still valid targets? I personally think no, I personally think there is. Yeah, as you said, there's no way you can go there aval in your man.
Tommy's Stewart four fifty five K wake him in fifty five bombers this week?
Yeah.
Again, Yeah, I'm not sure it's Is it cheap enough? Is it cheap enough?
I think the I think you're pretty much pitting you'd be pitting Tom Stewart up against other value picks. You got one copy five names, so yeah, a Koby mckersheh for instance. There's some names to come, like a Sam Doherty. We'll talk about these targets later. But I think you just have to. I don't know, I just go the game with it.
Mc cher got Zach Butters, got a couple of rookies. You've got how the Mills next week after the buye Tom Stewart after the buy heading into Richmond. I think there's enough that you don't need to go now, given there's only two games on a player who's yet to have the buy.
Yeah, fans, some breaking news in the pod, so we are recording on a Tuesday afternoon. What is this sprung with on me? No, it's it's all good. It's good positive news. Jack McCrae set to return this week, so he's playing on the Thursday. We've got word Jack McCrae set to return. And then the other positive news. Oh wait, it's not positive out.
We're going to talk about this one for a while to come.
This week. We traded out this week. But yeah, Jack McCrae, positive news, set to return. We don't have the full injury report. Tune into the HbF injury report tomorrow with our breaking even with our paytent for that, we have just some of the early snippets of what's coming through.
I have seventeen k break him into one fifty if you can get down below five and good way to finish.
Hold on another target for future and obviously for coaches like myself. I held, So I'm very happy and playing coach hold I held. I've got my cragit so the Horny one, Yeah, I got Hony one as well. So yeah, it's going to be flying home. Don't you worry about that. But yeah, lots of coaches will be happy with that. Sam Darcy as well a massive news him coming back into the team. Set to return this Thursday as well, So he's got a massive break even because he got injured so early in that game when he did, but huge breaking. I think it's like one ninety odd ninety one to come down and he was scoring, you know, probably not on par with your top six, but pretty close. And as we're talking about trying to fill out those twenty three players and if you are looking for more of those value picks, which a lot of us will be to have to do given the cash gen crisis that we've sort of had this year, he is one to keep well on your radar in a couple of weeks time when he could possibly get four hundreds to finish out your forward line or have that extra player to loop whatever you want to do, even in your flex.
That's what I was happy pivoting and Nick Martin on the weekend. I'm surprised you haven't actually brought up why.
That with Nick Martin. Oh yeah, yeah, we need to quickly touch on this.
I could be in the pan myself in the pen.
We'll wait for the pan for that, then we'll wait for the pen. But maybe Dossie takes over the pen.
Pivoting all right, you got this week Nick Martin pivoted to him. He perfect flex the Fender forward finish off because there is options there Darcy Jack McCrae in the forward line. Then you've got Calor Mills obviously working the Fender midfield mix. So one of another real top end payer. Because I know I'm probably get to you know, twenty three, twenty four. Maybe it's something to spending if we get lucky. Yeah, with those other guys. The other news, Bailey Smith, there's nothing to read into here. It's early in the week, but trained away from the main group managed program. According to Drew Jones there as well. I'm sure Dan Batton's all over that as well. But well Dan Batton, I don't know what he's doing either. Could be get up the FIBE names territory in Paris, that's true, He's not all over it. Then at the moment, hopefully they don't run into each other, Dan Batton, I mean, because might lets see him again?
So Cats play Saturday. But our message, yeah, I mean Bay Smith. He's owned by every like just about every super coach. There's no we don't even need to worry about him as a player. Do there's no he trade him out. Well, I'm That's what I'm saying. If he's out again, we didn't get enough We didn't get enough time to decide the first week when he missed. It's a hamstring straand it looks on the very minor end like there was footage pregame he felt around. It wasn't. I don't. I don't like to read, and I don't think it was as dodgy as we've seen the Cats do in the past. I think it was genuinely just tried to get him up. I tried. I do think that who knows, might I might be just reading into their reading into the cat's lives there, But I think with Badz, yeah, everyone owns him. We don't really talk about him. If he misses again, you just bench him wait for to come back. Unless you are completely strapped for cash and you really need to make a move, maybe you can just you know, you make money going down to Butters. You could bank heaps of cash going to Colby via DPP. I'm just saying, Hold obviously.
Hid that conversation quickly before we move on. Yeah, trading for cash, trading a highly owned player that's speaking their price, the fund and the completion of your team. So because just talking about trading Max Gorn at Melbourne's buy, would you consider it?
I don't think you can. After what I believe He'll be dropping about three hundred this week against a combination of either Dante Vizentini or Jordan Sweet, who had a monster game in the sandful numbers to come out on that. But our messaged us this morning two hundred score a score of two hundred in the sandful for Jordan Sweet, which is only one of two two hundred plus scores in the sand for all year this year. So does he come back to help Dante face Max Gorn. But I think this week Gorney's going to have like after what we saw on the weekend. Obviously, if you happen to be living under rock, turned over the ball in the crucial possession but had a monster game outside of that, he was super disappointed postgame. I think we're going to see a Max Gorn fury fury road Max Gorn this week.
So let him know.
I understand the I understand trading out. I just I just couldn't do it. I don't think if you've got him and Cherry. I think you just set in that department, would you consider it? No? I think stay.
I think we's going to come down again. Intentially depends on your team, your whole you know, only be traded t DK that's what you would do, k that way.
But by the time that buy comes they will be closer anyway. So all right, we'll keep an eye out on the HbF excuse me, injury report tomorrow on breaking him with our paytent for all the latest news there.
Actually just quickly let's read our Payton's X because it is some news all but confirmed.
We think is.
Our man back on the wall, the Horny One to return all the power this weekend, big one for our teams that we held there. I just scrolling down. Take Butters this week to finish mids, defend and rock with peddler F five and no cash. So go up to Butters, expoise himself at the bottom end a little bit. Pass on Butters, go from a Kercher type, then get meals the next week and then have enough to finish his wardline with the Horny One once he does come down.
Obviously, the Horny One is back.
Now. This is big from our to do that because he finally went with the horny one after we pressured him into in the preseason. Then he got injured, then he had to deal with him on a fifty five point break even.
So just quickly.
We'll get to more questions later. But there's the question up to Butters or they're now I expose himself at five, which is okay at the moment. The by rounds coming out the other side, though he will end up with mckircher Mills and then Horn Frances his last forward.
That's a little bit much for my brain to comprehend fans at this point on a Tuesday afternoon, but I think I would be I mean, he's look Al's been going a bit differently about it the last couple of weeks, and it's been paying off for him. He brought back in Caleb Daniel good move on the weekend, which I'm sure he'll talk about tomorrow. One hundred and twenty four. For him, maybe targeting a Horn Francis at value is the way to go. I think we both are just captivated by the potential ceiling of a Zach Butter's and you know, we don't know how Horn Francis is going to return, and hopefully he does return this week, but we don't know how he is going to return from that injury if it takes him a little weeks to get warmed up. We saw Caldwell come back from a similar injury. It was a bit of a longer hamstring, but he took a few weeks to warm up, which is why he was priced so cheaply as well. So does it take Horn France, It's a few weeks. It's still to be seen. Yeah, I feel like you've got a pounce while you get the opportunity. You know you Horn users might not end up being an option for instance, you know, say he plays a bit more forward whatever, so I'd be jumping on butters. Ye follow the crowd there, but our has been following some pretty strong instincts lately. Dare I say he passed you?
Did he come back past you?
It's not odd these days the fans rookies on the bubble fans yep you this week? Ye for interesting options, I'll say so I was delivering. I just wanted to say though off the top fans. Now this the point we're talking about how few trades we have left. You know, I've got eleven. I didn't mention how many do you have? Sorry, eleven, you've got eleven as well. It's not as important now to have these rookies with like super amazing job security. They're going to make your heaps of cash. I think it is. It is nice, though, to have that thought in mind that if you desperately need to rely on one of these guys and you have several stars go down and you've got no trades left after these by rounds, it is nice to have that in mind. Still, so we still do kind of on that job security and a bit of cash gin in case maybe they happen to make one hundred and fifty k randomly and we get to down grade, make our final little upgrade would be nice, but probably not as critical. So if you need to go down to a basement ninety nine K rookie type player, you'd be happy to doing to that at this point of the season.
Yep, okay, But even so, Angus Clark picked him last week. Three price rises before there buy, I'll probably trade him finish my team.
If you desperately need to, you'd go there. I mean there is a ninety Oh.
No, I'm just more saying that these are short term.
Yeah, I just mean if you desperately need to go, like we'll talk about Tom McCarthy at ninety nine K. He's probably the guy that if you're desperate to get a ninety nine K player in, he's the guy you'd go to. These other players, though, we'll talk about quickly because they still have an opportunity to make cash on the bubble. Zach Johnson, you mentioned off the top of the show, the two zacts this week, the big talking point Zach Johnson z A K. Johnson for Sennon one hundred and thirteen K mid. But he's been playing defense, so hopefully you know, a bit of DPP in a few rounds if he holds that spot. But that's regardless to the point, he's playing pretty solid. Scored an eighty four on the weekend. As I said as well, Adene Touches got true to the w over poor old Dussi a massive rookie score. Red flag for me here, sixty seven percent time on ground, So that was the lowest time on ground for the whole bomber squad outside of the two guys that were subbed in and out of the game. So clearly either not the tank quite yet or not the rotations in Brad Scott's where he sees him in the squad for the rotations to be a consistent scorer. The fact is, though job security, you'd is there. But we've seen other guys with low time on ground, such as an Elijah Statis early in the season who kept getting that low time on ground then rotate out of the team.
So that is the only thing they've got a few to come back to. Yeah, back at some point. Yeah, Jordan Ridley four weeks away. Still, that's probably after the buy. But I think even two games now one price rise, he play one or two games after the buy, there'd be enough.
I reckon. Let us know what you think, Bombers fans, whether what the job security is like. Obviously Bombers, you know that lost again definitely showed. I think he's showing enough that they need to give him time. But we've said that for a few players at the Bombers and it doesn't come to fruition, So let's see how that goes. He is definitely the number one rook on the bubbleedo massively low break even Hugh Jackson the other one, little Wolverine references on socials like that one hundred and nineteen came mid for Port Adelaide fifty eight on the weekend negative ten break even. We don't have five names here for some insights, but fans will tell us about him. Obviously he was flying as well on the first half, faded out a little bit. This is a guy we've been talking about in the left for a while. Long time listeners will know. Thanks for hips. It's not here.
Sample under eighteen super coach Beast who Jackson was back in twenty twenty one. Then he obviously had battled injury straight away when he came to Port and that it hasn't been out. I sort of get consistently on the part to sort of push his case. Finally gets in after a long way, but obviously raided him, kept him around for a while. But this is his numbers, first eleven rounds of his under eighteen year, because we do do that here on the left. One fifty four, one ninety three, one thirty two, one twenty eighty seven, one fifty two, one forty one, fifty nine, one forty nine, one forty five, one forty eight, Big fall magnet obviously not allowed to play that role just yet, given what have got horn Fins to come back in as well, can find the ball like he showed in the weekend, even in a bit part role, So I don't mind it. But we've got Zach Johnes who probably definitely go there in need another one. Again, hard to be exactly sure what ken Hinckley does with horn Fins coming back in, but if you keep your spot option.
A couple of other options that are still that are making money now they've already played their three games, have already gone up or down a little bit ted Clucy back in the mix one hundred and twenty K. So he's come down. He's been the sub a few times, mid forward a few times, came in the bas on the weekend, fans scored seventy one, played a right negative seven break even the fact he was a lad in though, But people are bringing him in already.
So nine he's played nine games this year, he's added one hundred dollars to his price tag.
That's what almost like one hundred. I think it's just the point that, look, he's a heartbeat. He's played a few games. As we said, he's played games this year he's still in the rotation. If he somehow manages to get a stretch of playing more time on ground, he can score. It's just a matter of that job screen. And we mentioned, as we said Baz was out on the weekend. If he's back, you'd imagine, yeah, can't go there straight out people, I bring him in, but yeah, we'd advise probably against it. Tyrell Dua though from the Weagles, the mighty Weagles, I might add, faded on the weekend. The boys look me, oh what well, this hasn't got to go there? How man Merrick was all right, whatty sins yep. Tyrol Duel though, has basically got the Merrick role. Now, okay, so it's it's Leam Duggan back there taking a few kickins. It's Dua taking kickings. They split the kickings fifty to fifty four apiece on the weekend. One hundred and seventy six k mid forward now one seventy six bit steep, bit steep when there, but essentially is back there. They basically switched him marek a bit up more on the wing. Dua basically switched back. So I don't hate it. He scored a ninety on the weekend obviously against North looked fantastic. He has looked good this year. Dua, But I think the cash is more useful.
You said you're not picking for your eyes on field scoring, job security the moment.
I just wish he was there last week. Well, I mean I wish I knew he was going to be permanently in this role last week and I probably would have gone there instead of Peddler. Yep, the pedlar factor definitely hurts. There's probably only a couple of other ones. Sam Butler won twenty six K forward fifty eight on the weekend, first game in early time.
Been racking up in the VFL.
Just yeah, wonder on the again, job security, he's got the buy soon. I think we just wait for him to play another game again. Job security about longer terms, even enough to make money, Yeah, just in case you need that little bit of extra cash. And then Tom McCarthy for West Coast nine to one K defender mid. I don't think he even played Waffle on the weekend. I think he had a family thing in Melbourne, So yeah, I mean does that push back his debut, I don't know. Let's just wait. We just wait till he plays but I feel like he's going to play at some point. So if you need to go early and he's not named and you need that extra cash, as we said, again, I think he's the guy to go to. I think he's going to play at some point in the next six weeks. So yeah, I don't think it's as risky as the bow Allen's. You know when I started the year with bow Allen, because he was under all sorts of clouds, like injury clouds and stuff like that. Yep, I think this is he's been brought there to play. He probably just needs to get his fitness up a bit and then he'll be ready to go.
That's the thing like if it gets you to them result on the other side with an upgrade, Yes, but again it's happened before in the past. These guys have been part timers all year. They're not exactly ready to step straight into a new system at a new level of intensity. So as good as are at the State League, don't always fit in straight away. But again, probably at some point if you need that fourteen extra k U came over from ZEP Johnson Vance Stop Targets, Dance Stop Targets, YEP on fire again last week.
Yep, yeap, love your own work alright.
Number one probably yes if you've been listening to the rest of the Jow Show. Sorry, Zach Butters, I have sixty three. K don't worry about Ed Langdon this week. Three Altobal games coming up for him. Great buying for a player we know as a top five supercoat scorer in the game. So get him, take him while he can now know buy finish the midfield or at least get close to it with the power superstar again. Number two, staying on the theme of the week, Zach sed Ak. Zach Johnson, like Angus class Clark last week, a bomber feature the top of the targets, given the cash generation we need, given the low break even given he passed the eye tests against Zach Johnson. Number two perfect, then go down to Zach Johnson one way up to Zach Batters the other perfect, one up, one down trade in the super coach this week.
Number three A little bit different value, was there.
Koby mkircher. Yeah, like that one you're going there. Five names is going there. Great buying from him. We know he's back in that role behind the ball which was so lucrative for him before last year.
Last year so lucrative.
Harry Cheesel as well at the start of this year the Rue so they do want to settle players in position, so hopefully Colby does stay back there. Three ninety three K break him twenty five. This is a week to go under four hundred K. Number four Tom Dacooning. He didn't go last week.
I didn't. I nearly did.
He was massive against the Bombers. You say he's not going to play Todd golds and every week, Well he will soon again Matt Flynn this week, Tom Koning and the Blues, then obviously Cherry, but after that could be Dante Visentini and Jordan's sweet so Bombers and super Coach Grand Final week still good buying five thirty six K. We speak of stealing types. He is the one umber five, the Zaia Wanganeen Miller are coming off the by five oh seven K two super coach Tons on the trot. Is he one level below your Jackson Claire's Looky Whitfield, Dane Zorko's lucky Ash that type maybe given how good years and surely teams don't let him run through. But fower seven K great option if you're struggling for cash to finish your team. Remember Calor Mills on the buy this week.
Look good.
He's one to fit in somewhere as well. But Nas, you do have a couple of spots to feel he could be the one coming off the buy.
Now, as you said, you did give yourself a nice little rap there, fans, But you have been killing the top targets lately. We'll give you that usually a lot of my intel. That's the nicest thing you've ever said. Well, it's sort of a comple to myself because a lot of that data comes from Oh before we get must listen. Yeah, it is a much listen, must watch, must listen. We're probably dropping on Wednesday again this week, a couple of late drops, but we will get back into regular schedule programming soon. It is the buy rounds got to work around fans before we get into questions quickly. We talked about fresh legs last week, players coming off the buy. We touched on all the players last week from the first buy round. We've only got two teams cover. There any players in particular. You mentioned Nasaia Wang Nin Miller. I just walked through a couple of other names from the Saints and Freemantle of the two teams off the buyer any other interest in these guys. You sort of briefly touched on the Cray as well, you're going to wait on that because he's got the high break even.
And just use he's slowly is the wrong word, but quiet games before that injury. So I just wanted to see how it fits back in.
Jack Sinclair is probably the only I love jas I did last week sort of going through the guys that are, like, you know, top of the line, keep a premium top end. You mentioned going the top end versus going the value. Those three I think as Jacksonclair and Jack McCrae and Jack again, you can wait on a Craig given he's got a super high break even, would you agree those three guys if you can bring him in, bring him in, except maybe wait for m cray. I think so five no.
Three k pens have a look like our when he asked before about what a trade that would do to what you can do in the next two or three weeks. If it doesn't affect I think you have enough cash go the ceiling. Jackson Clare isn't another level to I think in terms of super coat scoring consistency, but it's going to stop you or affect you using the rest of your team are going to get caught short. When best eighteen scoring finishes, then maybe it is as you let Jackson, cler go.
Freeman or the top of the line guys, I consider targeting if you don't have these players. Andrew Brayshaw under six hundred K at the moment, we just just under five ninety nine. But we do it. We say for thirty k cheaper, we're still going. Butter's there. But you know, say you've got a mount of cash you've been saving up to go bang, or you've got like three trades or a boost or something like that, you'd still tick off bringing in Brayshaw.
I don't know if it's expensive, you like the other options. Now that we've clink that there's enough elsewhere.
To look elsewhere, Okay, the other guys, Louke Jackson six nineteen k's probably gone for us, but I think so if he continues his form, like even with Sean Darcy in the side now seems to be just absolutely flying. I can't I've been an owner and traded him out. Unfortunately, when he did his hamstring early in the season, looked like he was doing his hammy. Then Sean Darcy was coming back in the side. There was uncertainty there. It's one of my biggest regrets of the season getting rid of the graap. This week the Unicorn Yellow Jackson sixt nineteen k forward ruck. I think he's going to be a top six forward guaranteed now. But look, I think you'd be bold to go there with the value we've got but six nine, and it's not out of this realm we've seen. I've paid up for Sherry at that price. I think he was even a bit more expensive and has not have not looked back on that trade joy her on average one forty two.
Look, I I.
Wouldn't be grudge anyone doing that. I would, Yeah, I'd say that would be a nice little It's not quite a pot. He's actually quite heavily or like more owned and more owner than you'd think. But I would like that in the top end, top sort of one top five percent. I think that's actually I would be surprised if he's super highly owned in that area, and I would like that as a sort of a little bit of a odd play up the top end. Jordan Clark and Caleb's are wrong.
I think it just maybe outside that top top line, they're not cheap enough. I don't think then to forty and five thirty five getting pretty cheap cheap. But we need to see he did something the week I told him to do something, okay, but then he was struggled to our scories made andy, so I wouldn't go there just yet.
All right, Fancy if they are asking that question, they can ask it to me directly? What question do you want to ask me? Questions from our loyal there listeners? Now? I've got some from Instagram? Do you want to cover some from Twitter? And obviously at the Phantom scas where you can find the great man hit yep.
Rob says best D six to finish the team mc Kercher this week or wait for color Meals bye this week is not an issue. Doesn't need the extra player in m Kercher this week in just say they both were playing this week and finished three of the Buyer meals or M Kircher.
I'm going the Kircher and it is because we've seen him hit these ceiling scores last year as a rookie. Don't forget when he was playing in this role as a rookie, he was gone one hundred plus. He hit one twenties last year. The moment he's moved back into a similar role this year. I know the opposition on the weekend was West Coast, so don't expect one forties every week, but I think you can get one hundred plus comfortably. Callum Mills. As much as I rate him as a player, I think he's amazing when he's up and running. He's played two games this whole season. Mckircher actually has had a good run of health this year, whereas he didn't in his rookie year. I feel like I'm going mkircher in this instance feels for me.
Wow, fifty seven K, say forty K could come in handy captain of the club. I think I know the Kills has got a has gone on one twenty like I'd like to look that up.
I mean I might. You can maybe shut me down. And it's been like less than a year, but Kerchers would have had more one ten plus scores than Meals has in recent history. And like the last few.
Years on forty three in around twenty four, twenty twenty three, twenty three, but go On didn't play obviously the start of that next year when he was wrestling Christanty Ben Monday.
Okay, might have to I might pass this on to Al to do a bit more research for tomorrow. I'm going with Kercher extra game as well. I know you said the but doesn't matter. But Kirch.
Brendan says, would you look at Charlie Kerner to finish off your forward line?
No?
Not with the options wait for Sam Darcy.
If I would be waiting for Sam Darcy.
Yeah, here's one. People obviously talk about Zach Butters. Everyone wants to get Zach Butter's in. They're moving and going a bit sideways. Super Coach Community Moore says he's downgrading him. Sorry, not more. Ian's scored twenty one oh nine on the weekend El dou or Matt Roberts.
The butters.
That would have to be Matt Roberts has been pretty poor. But yes, probably if you're doing one or the other.
I think so. Yeah, I mean he's got that. That's another question we've got on our Instagram trade or hold Matt Roberts. So just in general, yep, if you're doing these trade I've got that question this week your hole.
Yeah, essentially push him to flex or you color meals coming in there.
I would like to hold, I think, but you can make money going to a Kolby. As we've said, you got.
The trades put against it. I says, finalizing a team, is it worth bringing in BoNT now and then finishing with meals at D six and Horn Frances and Darcy as F six and that finals fourth?
This is the thing?
Or say the cash and get better options all around. So got BoNT at the top and then you finish your forward line defense with the cheaper value picks I think I like that, or with the cheaper value or would you you know? Or you're trying to pick guys all worth.
It's really tough. I mean we've talked a pre show and I think we might have briefly touched on it. It's during these by rounds ceiling matters. Ceiling matters so much so, like anyone that owned max homes last week was probably going up in ranks, like it was that simple. Anyone that had TDK. I think the player that won the weekly round had TDK captain. Like things like this make a big difference. They didn't even have Tristan Sherry and they still got the playground. But the point is, like, we need these ceiling scores to be able to rise in the buyers. And if you just get these flat tons, you're going to be fine after but in the next three weeks it's going to make a big difference. And I think that does so.
Kilda, Richmond and Sydney. Yeah, bond and the cheap value options for mine. One more here on xt before we move to Instagram.
Yep. One more Matt Kennedy the Bulldogs or kayleb Daniel. The amount of disrespect Yeah, Kennedy continues to get in the super coach community mentioned him a fair bit, just a little bit below, isn't he Yeah, I just can't do it, Like, just can't do it. It's and it's not even on him. It's the fact they're so loaded. Yeah, the fact that they are so loaded, and there's at any time the fear like a tralaw picks up his game a bit, or the fear that everyone else pops and he has a downscore and then you're just back to square one with with a not so like not top level forward. I think I said he's just retained the four more years, so you've got to give respect to him.
Yeah, definitely. I think I said a couple of screed. He probably average ninety five. Yeah here and he's got ninety seven eighty seven ninety one ninety five.
Yeah, I think it's a bit below. He's not cheap enough either.
I think you want to go for the ceiling in sm Darcy, I think even Yeah, So how Daniel coming off the by no bye to worry about?
This is from questions from super Coach Instagram. Super Coach AFL follow our Instagram page popping off this year fans with it Butters and Bray sure or just butters? I mean you can get both, get both? What about butters or BoNT this week? Butters? Yeah? Based on the price now, trading out Chad Warner is actually a question. We've got quite a bit so same deal as you'r Maddie Roberts. Obviously, Sydney on the by this week people are looking to making up grades. Still continue to trade Chad Warner down on form a little bit compared to what we thought he was going to be just playing pure mid beforehand. What do you think I'm a hold?
I'm a hold as well. I think given his ceiling is big still there will still be a big game or two. I think in the run home they need to probably use him better.
I think.
He's more a top six chance from when he returns from that point than the robert Is Roberts Is probably.
And what are your thoughts? So for those I didn't really mention this, but I reversed out of my Tom daconing trade with about thirty seconds before the bounce down. I panted a little bit. It really hurt. Obviously needed that ceiling score in the rotation. I was worried about clogging my flex with a ruck. We had the potential emergence, as I mentioned before, of the rookie ruck at GWS coming through in Nicholas Madden in case that he popped and he became this guy this next like Riley O'Brien of a couple of years ago, making less like two three hundred k on the run home. Being able to field him that sort of worried me as well as just blocking the flex being able to move players around. So I switched that to a Sam Dougherty, who I'm hoping gets defensive status. Has played amazing the last couple of weeks a Tom da cooning, would you block that flex spot but just have the three big dogs? Or even as your are too if you're still unsettled there, what are your thoughts on Tom decone? And then we'll talk about a little bit about Doc.
For a reason why I went with Nick Martin as well. Again, and you're still playing a lot of what if you might get a dream right and not have to future flex? So will Tom Dacony outscore something the options considering? Yes, probably so, although I like what I've done with Nick Martin, you can't afford to do that. I think, you know, maybe the ceiling out wighs what you're going to lose anyway, Doc, like you said, wound back the clock twenty six touches, thirteen marks, one clanger the Sam Dockerty of old stats. We've know he's gone back to VFL, worked hard, come back in.
He got three scores over one point fifty in the VFL Super Coach before coming back in sigin sept Mark as well in a good Game Brucial. It was painful as as a West Coast fan looking on reminiscent of Leo Barry that much. Dare I say fans I wouldn't pick him out of Colvin mkirch though, Okay, I think that's most of the questions we've got mccaull. If you've got people's mccaulleff on the buy, yep, do you trade him out now he's made a bit of cash, so McCall jack Butters is a question coming through. So he's obviously rookie question still making money. We do have this question, still making money? Is it time to jump off these players now that they're on the buy. I know some people also considering a ned Long. I don't think his score was as good and his costion's sort of more dried up than a mccauliffe.
I think if you you can use his money for sure, I don't think he's going to make sixty seventy eighty K from here, upgraded team go to Butters. I'm going to keep him though, because I'm in the spot where I can use Sandy Brock and usually by Ashcroft and use Thomas Simms their money to get up to Zach Butters.
I like K mccauliff.
Something goes wrong, he finished see my twenty fourth player, that would be ideal the bench or you know, if something goes really were wrong and have to play him at flex or something like that. Then, because we've shown how quickly he can score low time on ground, high points per minute. Hopefully that improved a little bit. The time on ground from here gets a bit of a bump after the rest because I do like him good to be coach scorer. So again you need to use him to get the butters all for it. But I'm keeping him because I've got other cash options. Maybe come twenty fourth man.
All right, those are the burning questions of the week fans. One final one to round it out, which I think can be a quick answer, is Nick dkos Worth keeping is traded out by more than a thousand coaches as we speak. Yes, come on, keep keep dance to hit the pan, Pan Pan, Now you've taken over, taken over this one because you deserve to. You definitely deserve to be in the pan for this one. I know we've we've tracked in the pan sizzling away a couple of times this year yourself, but Doss, he's thrown you in the pan. Now we get a message that you were pivoting from all of us. By the way, we're picking Tom to Coney this week everyone on this show you had in there. We were picking t DK. I rotated out. I've mentioned I panicked Doc, not to not upset with Doc.
But when Mitch Cleary said there was a news and then Carlton confirmed it that Harry McKay would miss I know Keith would come in.
Yep.
Someone said good Tom to Coney, spend more time forward.
Clear, said Cleary. As we said, I think Mitch Cleary did say, yeah, he might dyk might spend more time forward. I don't think we were too worried about that. Well, I know sim that's what's scared of five names. So he rolled out of that trade. But yourself, dance, what were you thinking sizzling away in the pan. You've stuffed your flex up. You've made another rookie move. I think this is the second time you've I mean remember earlier in the year you put the VC on Gorn's one ninety odd. You it off put the sea, you didn't check. You left the sea on Nick Dakos. I think luckily you won't burnt too hard. Then this time you've clogged your flex. And I think it was Levi Ashcrofty he's played your flex is ruled out for the week, so you couldn't get dn GA if you wanted to. Yep, now go through whole you sizz all the way.
Yeah, fat about this one flight to you know, do my trades, have a look, then reverse it before Thursday night. So you've got complete clean slate. Infin need to wait, don't need to make any moves, didn't need training one Thursday night. Didn't even trade him one Friday night, so before the bounce Thursday night, reversed my TDK trade. Yep, all right, we'll do it before later on the weekend. But yep, everything goes. Didn't probably check. We had a good night Friday night. Yeah, freezing down at the crow will saw you afterwards. Cut the fans. Fandom fans wouldn't go that far. Got it was a great supercach night. Really we went leave by Ashcraft. Oh yeah, kept him here, take it right and turn the ball over late. It's okay, sixty six whatever looked in the morning, I thought, okay, yeah, no, I might I might pivot from from t DK. It's a bit of a bit of a worry. And I looked went to make the train and thought, I'm going to have to because Ashcroft has been reversed into my flex where he was last week. I didn't even looktal scenes now. That's and I wasn't sure what to do either. I wasn't going to tell anyone. Yeah, I wasn't even going to tell comments.
On the socials about this though. Let's they wanted to know. They wanted your opinion on what you've done. So some people had been checked.
Oh yeah, someone said need to fire my advice as well, and by hod Cell. But yes, I did lock myself into Levy Ashcroft flex even though I was considering, and I do like how it's ended up with Nick Martin flexibility. I locked myself out of tea after reversing my trade on Thursday and not looking that Leo Ashkoff obviously returned and restored back.
In flex where he was last round the fancy. You've earned yourself a new badge on that one. That's that's the second new badge of the season. Three three Nube strikes, and I was.
Going to hide it that.
It was a hard watch.
It was a hard watch when Nick Martin was on twenty five A half.
Time chance if we get the third strike and official super coach Nube it's to work his way back, but in the pan yep. This week we need our beloved five names.
But we do think Next Monday, remember tune in the Coat Sports YouTube channel after a big boat party down in Tazzy. Five names could be
Selling unmissable stuff last week see then
