A large percentage of people across the world live in rural communities where access to high-quality education is not as easy as it is in major cities. However, since the pandemic, there has been a rapid advancement in the spread of remote education, with the e-learning market in the Asia Pacific region accounting for over 30% of worldwide growth in the market.
In this episode, you'll hear from Dr Rukmini Banerji and Abhay Saboo, who are working to provide and improve education in India and Indonesia respectively. Dr Rukmini is the CEO of Pratham Education Foundation, one of India's largest NGOs, which focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. Abhay is the Co-founder of CoLearn, a company that started as a chain of tutoring centres across Indonesia but pivoted to a completely app-based model in 2020 as a result of the global pandemic.
Dr Rukmini and Abhay discuss how smart devices and widespread connectivity will better enable remote learning, with the power to provide a world-class education anywhere, ensuring a better education and future for many in rural Asia Pacific areas.
