Thirty, ninth-grade girls from three underprivileged schools in Gauteng are embarking on a transformative journey with the launch of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education initiative by Melisizwe Girls in STEM Programme, funded by the Sage Foundation.
Designed to bridge the gender and socioeconomic gap in STEM fields, this four-year partnership aims to equip young girls with the skills and confidence needed to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated industries.
Joining us on the line to unpack this further is Candice Kern-Thomas CEO at Melisizwe.
