Language is an essential part of how people communicate, particularly in a culturally diverse country like South Africa that has 11 official languages.
In an effort to continue to break language barriers, Google Translate has announced its biggest expansion to date, powered by AI.
The platform now includes an additional 110 new languages including South African languages, TshiVenda and siSwati.
This brings the total number of South African languages to nine. More from Google SA’s Communications Manager, Siya Madikane.
