A super guest this week in dual league and union international Apollo Perelini. Apollo represented Samoa at the 1991 Rugby Union world cup and 1995 Rugby League world cup. Nicknamed “The Terminator”, he established a reputation for his hard-hitting tackles. Originally a product of the Auckland and New Zealand rugby systems, Apollo established himself as one of the best front rowers in the world during his very successful time at St Helens between 1994 and 2000. His transition into coaching came initially as head trainer for Sale Rugby (UK), followed by a hugely successful career at championship-winning St Helens Rugby League (UK). He is currently Managing director of Apollo Sports Academy and High Performance Manager at the UAE Rugby Federation.
