Paul has over 39 years of financial services experience with companies such as Westpac Banking Corporation’s Investment Management Division, Mercantile & General and Legal & General Asset Management. Paul’s career includes senior roles in management, investment and portfolio management in the funds management industry. In 1997, Paul co-founded Ausbil where he holds the position of Executive Chairman, Chief Investment Officer & Head of Equities. Paul has has been instrumental in building the funds under management at Ausbil to over $11 billion. Paul’s role includes strategy, portfolio construction and input into the investment management of Ausbil’s funds. Paul is a member and Chairman of Ausbil’s Portfolio Construction Committee.

 About Ausbil Investment Management is a leading Australian based investment manager. Established in April 1997, Ausbil’s core business is the management of Australian equities for major superannuation funds, institutional investors, master trust and retail clients. Ausbil is owned by its employees and New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company. As at 31 October 2018, Ausbil manage over $10.8 billion in funds under management

  • Ausbil was established as a joint venture between Banque Internationale a Luxembourg (BIL), a European bank interested in expanding in Australia, and a local investment management team primarily drawn from senior members of BZW Investment Management.
  • BIL was established in 1856 and was Luxembourg’s oldest and largest banking institution. In 1997, BIL merged with two other regional European banks – Credit Local de France and Credit Communale de Belgique - to form the Dexia Group.
  • Ausbil Dexia offered funds within a range of asset classes, including Australian equities, international equities, listed property and bonds. It also offered an enhanced index fund, a balanced fund, and a SICAV1, which is still managed today.
  • Ausbil Dexia shifted its strategic focus to Australian equities a few years later. It also established an emerging leaders (ex-top 50) equities fund.
  • In 2014, replacing Dexia, New York Life Investment Management acquired its current holding in Ausbil. Also in 2014, Ausbil rebranded to Ausbil Investment Management – marking a new stage in its evolution.
