Melissa Edyvean (and her partner, Martin Buggy) discovered chai latte while visiting New York for the new millennium celebrations in Times Square. Bondi Chai was launched in 2005 and by 2010 had become the most awarded product of its kind in Australia. After an inauspicious start – selling just 17kg in their first month – today they sell around 6 tonnes of product a month and someone, somewhere in the world, enjoys a Bondi Chai Latte every two seconds.
