Next Science Limited (Next Science) recently announced the launch of its IPO and future ASX listing. Founded in 2012, Next Science has developed a unique non-toxic technology platform with proven efficacy in eradicating biofilm-protected bacteria, which accounts for 90% of all bacteria.  Millions of people worldwide are affected by biofilm-based infections, such as chronic wounds, middle-ear, sinusitis, implant- and catheter-associated infections, each year. Next Science’s Xbio platform works by destroying biofilms –  surface films formed by bacteria to act as shields – and then treating infections themselves by making the bacteria more vulnerable to attack by antimicrobials, antibiotics and the body’s natural immune defences. Next Science’s Xbio technology has been validated as an effective treatment for biofilm-shielded bacteria by extensive clinical testing, multiple FDA clearances and the result of more than 70,000 patient treated since 2017. With a portfolio of medical products in market and final stages of testing, Next Science has been able to gain early market access with this breakthrough technology, while developing the business to support research in expanded areas of bacterial infection control and eradication.
