Bill Doran Head of Oceania, SWIFT

Bill is head of Oceania for SWIFT, the global provider of secure financial messaging services. Bill Doran joined SWIFT’s commercial team in Sydney in 2004. During his time at SWIFT, Bill has developed a deep understanding of the payments and securities markets in Australia and New Zealand, and has held key roles in delivering the SWIFT-based low value payments solutions in both countries as well as supporting the evolution of automated clearing and settlement capabilities at ASX-Austraclear, ASX-CHESS and NZ Clear. In 2011, Bill started managing the relationship with the region’s key clients before being promoted in 2013 to Head of Oceania, responsible for all of SWIFT’s commercial activities in the region. Bill led SWIFT’s successful pitch to provide the Basic Infrastructure services for the New Payments Platform (NPP) in Australia, which is planned for live operations in 2017. Prior to SWIFT, Bill worked in various industries including telecommunications, transport and finance as well as the leading a team at IBM who were responsible for the Swimming results systems for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He has experience in diverse markets including relocation assignments in Spain, USA and Vietnam.
