It’s Easter Sunday - on the Christian Calendar, said to be the day Jesus rose to Heaven, rising from his death by Crucifixion on the Friday before, taking with him the sins of the world.  April begins tomorrow!  It’s also Child Abuse Prevention Month.   Accordingly, April is an important month for Fayetteville’s Child Advocacy Center – a special community protector and treatment facilitator – using a highly developed multi-disciplined approach to providing help and hope where Child Abuse is detected and discovered in our community.  Just in case ANY of the subject matter discussed today strikes an interest or chord with you, we want to bring up CAC-FAY-NC-dot-org.  This website contains a wealth of useful, helpful links and information on the Child Advocacy Center’s mission, the ways they help and the ways they $500 first prize for the winners of both performances.  All information at CAC-FAYNC-dot-org.   We’ll start talking about all these Child Advocacy Center April Happenings with longtime executive director Roberta Humphries – who retired but is now back as interim executive director.

Another steward of the Public Trust is the Cumberland Community Foundation, collector, custodian and distributor of donations to many Fayetteville Non-Profits.  In fact, as Fayetteville’s Jersey Mike’s donated all sales this past Wednesday to six area 501c3’s, Jersey Mike’s in our area divided all sales receipts (thru the Cumberland Community foundation to  Cape Fear Valley Hospital Foundation (supporting, among other things, the Cancer Center of Cape Fear Valley) –Operation InAsMuch for the Homeless, the Care Clinic for the uninsured, Fayetteville Police Foundation, Special Olympics, and the FTCC Foundation, making college degrees more accessible to members within our community.
