With a whole spate of scheduled activities this week at Fort Liberty, - from Post emergency preparation drills on Wednesday to the continuation of Robin Sage all week – to this Friday night’s college hockey game at Cleland ice rink - to this coming Saturday’s Smith Lake Polar Plunge  (which last year drew 250 participants) – to registration for a couple of the Post’s we determined this might be a pretty timely day to preview Fort Liberty’s profound week…with the Garrison’s highest ranking and most senior enlisted soldier, nearly 27 year veteran Command Sergeant Major Greg Seymour…

As we’ve mentioned in the past few weeks, the streak of cold weather days – plus donations being down at the same time demands, expectations and requests for help and resources by families in need being up, has squeezed one of the reliable backstops in our community, the Salvation Army of the Sandhills.   

The Salvation Army of the Sandhills strives to do the most good …with Love and resources - in everything we ask them to do in our community…from sheltering families in need, to helping the hurting, aiding families down on their luck at Christmas, to simply providing for the cold and hungry.
