More than 5,000 volunteers helped the river cleanup nonprofit, Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful®, to reach a milestone of 1 million lbs. of trash removed from the Tennessee River. A huge thank you to everyone who pitched in including Thomas trouy, who works with the nonprofit  WaterWays which helps communities protect and restore local watersheds. This is really an unfortunate milestone as water sources like our river are being destroyed by trash

Maury Nicely is a Chattanooga lawyer but he’s also an author of several books that puts the spotlight on this areas incredible history. Two books are walking tour guides through Chattanooga and East Tennessee, and one book is about the history of the of the 1964 Chattanooga trial of Jimmy Hoffa. His newest endeavor delves into  John T. Wilder referred to as the “father of modern Chattanooga.” During the Civil War, he was the commander of a brigade of Indiana and Illinois infantry
