It’s an honor this morning to welcome to the jed and jr show the newest chancellor at utc  dr. lori Mann Bruce who came from tennessee Tech University, and more importantly  becomes the first woman to hold the chancellor title in  the university's 138-year history.

You were part of a nation search and it says a lot about our changing culture in Chattanooga and hiring a woman. Under your leadership at tn tech that school experienced incredible research growth which is something chattanooga’s mayor is trying to bring to utc…Chattanooga is the only major city in the state without a university where research is at the forefront. You have said all that could change along with the growth of the student population to 15 thousand

Utc’s graduation rate is around 53 percent which is average compared to colleges its size ut 73 percent…
