23 July 2018 ➢ The ANC in Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal held their elective conferences over the weekend. In Gauteng around 1244 out of a total of 1256 voting ANC delegates elected Premier David Makhura as the province chairperson while Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi was elected as his deputy. In KZN Sihle Zikalala retained his position as the province chairperson while Mike Mabuyakhulu beat Willies Mchunu to become the deputy chairperson.
