Educated and experienced, yet safe in Singapore? Not necessarily. Latest data shows retrenchment rates are highest among senior staff such as professionals and managers.

In July, GovTech announced it will cut 7 to 9 per cent of its staff over two years. In June, Lazada announced another round of layoffs, affecting 5 per cent of its South-east Asia workforce, including Singapore.

What should you do if you are laid off? How big should your emergency fund be? Which skills are harder for AI to replace?

In this episode of the Talk Money podcast, host Andrew Zhan and Lianhe Zaobao finance reporter Siow Zhi Hui speak to Dr Xu Le, Lecturer of Department of Strategy and Policy at NUS Business School, and David Law, Insurance Specialist from Havend.
