After several months of discussion, Rep. Ted Lieu introduced the 21st Century Federal Writers’ Project. Modeled after FDR's Works Progress Administration program on the 1930s, this Writers' Project would provide $60 million administered by the Department of Labor to nonprofits, libraries, news outlets and communications unions to provide work to out of work and underemployed writers and journalists to tell the stories of the pandemic.
