Richard Lloyd Parry: Ghosts of the Tsunami

View descriptionShare

The 2011 tsunami in Japan and subsequent meltdown of a nuclear power plant set off a national crisis. The Times Asia Editor Richard Lloyd Parry lived through the earthquake in Tokyo and spent six years reporting from the disaster zone to piece together (Ghosts of the Tsunami), his gripping and humanising account of the catastrophe and its aftermath. In conversation with (The Monthly) editor Nick Feik, he discusses the unexpected and mysterious ways the tragedy revealed itself long after the initial emergency abated.
