A Little Life has made a very big splash for its American author Hanya Yanagihara. Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, the novel has touched a nerve with its dark, complex and gripping depiction of humanity. This sometimes harrowing tale is told through the eyes of four college graduates who move to New York to make their way in life. While there is darkness in this story, there is also much beauty in its telling. Hanya speaks to Benjamin Law about the solace and tenderness found in friendship and the book that’s got the whole world talking.
