How can we design immersive art that truly touches and connects us? This year IDFA DocLab celebrates the unpredictable beauty of friction between humans, art and technology. With a live performance by Luna Maurer (formerly Studio Moniker) of Designing Friction, a techno-optimist alternative to eliminating friction from our lives. Other speakers are Steye Hallema (Smartphone Orchestra), introducing a collective performance that turns people and their phones into one big awkward family, and Caspar Sonnen (IDFA DocLab) presenting the DocLab R&D Program for immersive art in collaboration with MIT.
