Higher education is in the midst of multiple transitions: a wide variety of economic, cultural, and political forces are raising questions about long-held assumptions as to the nature and purpose of academic life. This session features a conversation between the president of a major university and the executive director of a 300-member-institution network. Both speakers will offer specific examples of innovations and changes in higher education that are being implemented at a number of institutions, and that they believe will help colleges and universities meet the challenges that lie ahead.
